10/16 Runaway Dramas

Quote From: covergaard

Why seems the standard solution to be to send the poor child away to some kind of boarding school for trubled children when the problems seems to be the parents not steping up to their responsiblity?

I am deeply worried to learn that this is a choice open for the parents alone without the interferense of the athorities.

I acknowledge that large corporations like the Aspen Education Group and World Wide Assosiation of Special Schools do make results. But they are not making results as good as they could be if the child had stayed home and in the process they do create adults which are unable to connect with anyone in their adult life if their former client do not choose to cut life short themselves. That is a unpleasant fact.

Why not get the local authorities look into each case and work it out?

In Denmark we have something called the SSP co-operation. It is co-operation between School, Social authority and the police. Whenever a problem occurs that could led a youth ending up getting a poor life, this kind of co-operation steps in.

Then at least a childs future would be decided by professionels with long-time knowledge about the invidual child. Not the pre-mind set parents, which in some cases do have a secret of their own to hide.

What  is happening with Kimberlee, the girl who was missing?  Why is there no update or even mention of this poor kid?
