Tyra Show...

The Tyra Banks show did an "Embrace Your Big Fat A**" show.

She had that UK beauty queen, Chloe Marshall, who I think is gorgeous, and she's plus-size. I think the most beautiful thing about her is that she embraces her size and doesn't care about the tag on the clothing. There's those of us (myself included) who are tall and/or have a large frame and are just going to be big no matter how we try to emaciate ourselves (I'll never be a size 0 because my bones are a size 4). She doesn't let her size/stature rule her life.

Starving yourself is SOOO not worth the irreparable damage you can do to your heart, liver, and brain. It's funny, or rather non-sensical, that the model/tv/movie world would rather starve themselves to accomadate for the 10 lbs that the camera adds, but why not change the camera so that it doesn't distort the image? It's the CAMERA that has the problem in this scenario. Why can't a "walking hanger" have a nice set of boobs/butt to fill out the outfit?

Danger, Will Robinson!....

If I were her parents, I'd be worried too and with good reason. This is a part of the world that is NOT free, is NOT a miniature version of the United States. They behead people over there simply for denying Islam, go to snuffx.com if you don't believe me, look at Nick Berg's beheading. It's not that safe for anyone to be there, whether you're American, Israeli, or Saudi. Blame it on the extreme lslamic jihadists, trying to spread their caliphate, Hamas, Al Qaeda and Hezbollah, you cannot negotiate with those people, they will kill you without thinking twice about it. They use their own children as suicide bombers, they're equal opportunity butchers, as far as I'm concerned.

I do wonder if this is his tactic to convert American women to Islam and then use them as suicide bombers as a "screw u" to the "American devils". In fact, I don't think Katherine is his only victim...er paramour. But, she made up her own brainwashed mind, and who are her family to be concerned <eye roll>? If he was so in love with her, why doesn't HE come HERE? Why does she have to go over there? I wouldn't.

The Qur'an

Quote From: jewelsf

It is my understanding, and I could be wrong here, that the Koran is the same as our Bible. It just has a different name and only covers the first testament. If I am wrong someone please correct me. I always want to learn and to be well informed.

The Koran can be interpreted different ways (much like the Bible). The Islamic fundamentalists are the ones that abuse it to kill innocent people and justify genocide, such as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (leader of Iran), who wants to throw Israel into the sea, denies the Holocaust, and the existence of gays in Iran.

"Muhammad (c. 570 – July 6, 632) was an Arab religious, political, and military leader who founded the religion of Islam as a historical phenomenon. Muslims view him not as the creator of a new religion, but as the restorer of the original, uncorrupted monotheistic faith of Adam, Abraham and others. In Muslim tradition, Muhammad is viewed as the last and the greatest in a series of prophets—as the man closest to perfection, the possessor of all virtues.[33] For the last 23 years of his life, beginning at age 40, Muhammad reported receiving revelations from God. The content of these revelations, known as the Qur'an, was memorized and recorded by his companions

Conflict with Medinan Jewish clans who opposed the Muslims led to their exile, enslavement or death, and the Jewish enclave of Khaybar was subdued. At the same time, Meccan trade routes were cut off as Muhammad brought surrounding desert tribes under his control.[35] By 629 Muhammad was victorious in the nearly bloodless Conquest of Mecca, and by the time of his death in 632 he ruled over the Arabian peninsula.[36]"

To me, if Romeo over there cares so much for Katherine, then why would he drag her out into the middle of a war zone? This guy seems like a misogynistic cretan, and women are dispensable to him. I say that because of how he's treated both Katherine and the women in her family. She should "whip his a**" for being so disrespectful, he needs it.

Story from Grade School.....

Have you ever had a teacher in school that you absolutely despised? I do. It was my fifth grade teacher. She yelled at her students and seemed to be in a perpetual PMS state. The big thing that made her the "worst teacher I've ever had" was the following account.

I was enrolled in a year-round program. It was the middle of July in south Texas and 100 degrees at 90% humidity. The portable we'd been using was being serviced for the day, so we couldn't stay there. What does the teacher do? We stayed OUTSIDE in the 100 degree heat for THE ENTIRE DAY!!!!

One student collapsed from heat stroke at one point during the day, and being fair-skinned, I received a deep sunburn, increasing the chances of basal cell carcinoma later in life. The stupid woman exposed the entire class to heat stroke and dehydration, which can KILL you, btw- an electrolyte imbalance can stop your heart, which is why it's SO important to stay hydrated (there was NO cooler full of bottled water, her answer was to "find a water fountain"). 10-year-olds HAD NO BUSINESS being outside the ENTIRE DAY in 100 degree heat, no clouds in the sky, slowly dying of dehydration.

There are many different alternatives to the torture she exuded on her students. She SHOULD HAVE called everyone's parents for permission to take us to the library or other air-conditioned building. Then tried to get a bus from Transportation to come out. If she was too stupid to keep a list of parents, take them anyway. If I were a parent in the situation, I would want the teacher to exercise COMMON SENSE and choose the air-conditioned building over an Auschwitz-like oven in the event that I couldn't be contacted. She wouldve gotten in less trouble with me keeping the children SAFE than having a student COLLAPSE!!!

If she couldn't have gotten a bus, then call up a few room mothers, they would have been glad to offer transportation to the Public Library. The safety of those kids should have been her primary concern and I hope she got in trouble for it. I think the parents would have been more forgiving if she had bothered to take everyone out of that dangerous situation and actually took care of her students.

Congratulations, the criminal negligence she displayed nominates her for "THE WORST TEACHER I"VE EVER HAD".

Al Gore's energy-efficiency....

Thought this might be interesting:

NASHVILLE - In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”

In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

In February 2007, An Inconvenient Truth, a film based on a climate change speech developed by Gore, won an Academy Award for best documentary feature. The next day, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research uncovered that Gore’s Nashville home guzzled 20 times more electricity than the average American household.

After the Tennessee Center for Policy Research exposed Gore’s massive home energy use, the former Vice President scurried to make his home more energy-efficient. Despite adding solar panels, installing a geothermal system, replacing existing light bulbs with more efficient models, and overhauling the home’s windows and ductwork, Gore now consumes more electricity than before the “green” overhaul.

Since taking steps to make his home more environmentally-friendly last June, Gore devours an average of 17,768 kWh per month "1,638 kWh more energy per month than before the renovations " at a cost of $16,533. By comparison, the average American household consumes 11,040 kWh in an entire year, according to the Energy Information Administration.

In the wake of becoming the most well-known global warming alarmist, Gore won an Oscar, a Grammy and the Nobel Peace Prize. In addition, Gore saw his personal wealth increase by an estimated $100 million thanks largely to speaking fees and investments related to global warming hysteria.

“Actions speak louder than words, and Gore’s actions prove that he views climate change not as a serious problem, but as a money-making opportunity,” Johnson said. “Gore is exploiting the public’s concern about the environment to line his pockets and enhance his profile.”

The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, a Nashville-based free market think tank and watchdog organization, obtained information about Gore’s home energy use through a public records request to the Nashville Electric Service.

BMI

Quote From: grace93

I'm 14 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches, and weigh 118 lbs. I know I'm not exactly overweight, but I am not happy with how much I weigh. I have struggled with anorexia in the past and would like a healthier alternative so I can lose weight but not be unhealthy or endangering myself. Any advice?

Your BMI is at 17.9, which puts you in the underweight category. I don't think you should be on a diet to LOSE weight. Really, you don't want to buy into extreme dieting right now because not only are you very thin, but you're also still in adolescence, where your body is growing as fast as it did when you were an infant. You need calories to grow, to maintain your metabolism, menstruate and to be able to have the energy to be a teenager.

I'm an RN now, and I've seen girls in your situation stop menstruating, collapse, and have to be fed through an IV. They're also harder to start and IV on because they are so dehydrated, and you don't want that because it stops your heart, and can cause damage to your liver, kidneys, and brain. Many anorexics lose the ability to reproduce altogether from decisions they make now.

I know, I went through a milder version of what you're going through now, and believe me, it's not worth screwing up your body because of the obsession. I was a plump child, and grew out of my shape into a very thin one, and I never wanted to be overweight again. But starving myself screwed my body up so bad that I was getting constant UTI's (they hurt like hell), I had no ability to focus, I had zero energy, I was passing out because I had a genetic anemia and anorexia exacerbated it, and my periods were always irregular and painful.

Please, eat normally during this time in your life. Worry about dieting when youre in your early 30's.
