Yes, it's hard to live that way sure, but only because everyone is so hung-up on what they think God wants. The problem I find is that people tell me I can't know what Gods plans are, I can't know what his purpose for us is, yet in the same breath, they say " God wants us to" or "God doesn't like". The judgment with people comes from people with preconceived notions about what they think God wants based off of man written doctrine.
If we didn't have religion in this country, we wouldn't judge the way we do, because judgment always comes from what they think is sinning or going against God.
I know what you mean. How mind-numbingly irritated I get when people with religious background straigh up contradict themselves. Happens reguarly, but they NEVER admit it. So odd. It is soooo annoying when someone says "god doesn't like this". How the heck do you know?? I thought "nobody knows his plan", etc. etc.
People, value, morals, they all change over time. We see more things like gender issues come up now only because we are slowly, very slowly in some cases, growing more accepting. Of course there were people with the exact same issues over 2000 years ago, but they just couldn't discuss it or couldn't write a book, or go on TV, or even be accepted by ANYONE. Things are changing....hey, maybe it's part of god's "plan."
