Bipolar Disorder

Quote From: dbianco1

I am currently waiting for COBRA insurance to start so that I can see my doc again.  I have had to stop working because of my stress level and I need to go on disability.  I have to pay over $700 mo in child support because my ex played dirly in our divorce, telling lies about me and almost made me have a nervous breakdown, in order to get custody.  Also he abused me for years but because the kids didn't see it, it couldn't be used in child custody.   Very often I feel like everyone would be better off without me.  My current husbands sisters are total bitches to me, it took a lot to makehim stand up to them.

I have Bi-polar 1, with all the extras (rapid cycling, mixed episodes), PTSD from the abuse I went through, multiple anxiety issues to the point that most of the time I can't even go shopping or have a hard time leaving the apartment.

Sounds like you and I are two of a kind.

I forgot to mention that some churches may have funds to assist you in your immediate situation.

Can you talk to your ex and tell him what situation you are in-does he care about the kids at all? Is he approachable regarding this?

I would push the food stamps and assistance and let them know he is not sending you enough and that he is cutting the amount back.

Is there a Department of Child Support Enforcement in your area?  They are pretty strict on my ex-and anytime I've had to take him to court, they sent their lawyer with me!  After the last court hearing the judge came down pretty hard on him and now the payments are garnished from his wages like clockwork.

I'll pray for you today.  God knows we get angry at Him, but don't turn your back on Him. He can help (again, it can't hurt to ask.)
Hugs to you,
Marty
I've checked with the churches. My ex is doing this deliberately, he doesn't care about the kids, all he cares about is annihilating me. I've gone round and round with DHS, they simply will not help. I've turned him into child support enforcement but it hasn't gone through yet. I didn't turn my back on God, he turned his back on me and after 31 years of being tortured by this world, I choose not to believe in a God that is so hateful.

In our area, we have a 211 information line.  Dial 211, and they have info on getting rides to dr. appointments, how to get help paying for dr. visits, etc...is there anything like that in your area?  Call your local community health center...maybe they can help you get in to a doctor, and tell you how to get transportation.

Social Security will probably want ANY records that you can get...even if they are old...they document that you have these disorders.  Again, they may have their own doctor, who can do an exam and testing for their records.  Call your local Social Security office, and find out...you might be on hold for awhile, though.

There has to be a way you can get the meds that you need...I'm sure that the lack of meds is a factor in your hopeless attitude...depression sets in and takes over, and your whole mind is filled with skewed thinking...and stress definitely plays a role in that...and you certainly have plenty of that!!

Marty is right...keep after the Child Support Enforcement agency...they have the power to garnish your ex's wages...then, you are guaranteed to get your child support money...with no cuts.  They will also garnish back-support, that he hasn't paid.

For the food, call your local food bank...they are there to help...maybe they could have somebody deliver it...just explain your situation...

I hope things get better for you soon...Becky

Thanks
