I'm a 17 year old girl. My story is a little bit different. It started last winter right after my 17th birthday I became majorly ill. I spent the next couple of months (from begining of december into early march) going in and out of the hospital, spending weeks at a time. From the begining I was having extreme pain coming from my head. They had to put me on narcotics (the hospitals drug of choice). Everytime I went into the hospital I was put on fentonal te strongest they could offer me. Over the stays at the hospital I became pyshically dependant apon it. They than started to give me prescriptions for at home use. It started to not be enough to get the same effect, and so they uped the strength. Eventcually they tried to lower the strength after it became aparent I was becoming dependant. Now I have diabetes, ashama, and an immune issues, so when they reduced it only be 20 percent my heart rate shot up to a dangerous level. I ended up in the ER where they just gave me a large dose of dimmeral and sent me on my way. I was showing the pyshical signs, not able to keep any food down I went down to a weight of 76 with my normal 94. (I'm short). My mother took me to the doctor desperately trying tofind a place to get me to go through detox. She sent us to a local detox hospital. They told us there that it wasnt the right place for me, because it was mostly for emotional dependacy. My mother than went to the internet  for help. She came apon the website for Florida detox, a rapid detoxification. It was expensive yes but we go help from my family and made the appointment. When we arrived there and went tothe open house they held they went through the procedure and the effects of drugs on the body and brain. They helped to make clear what they did and hhow it helps. After the procedure had taken place I woke up after being under for about 24 hours and felt nothing, no withdrawls  an felt such clearity. My  head was no longer in a fog! I know I could not have gone through a normal dextox with my health issues. I want to thank all te nurses and doctors who looked after me and saw me through. Dr..Sponaugle helped me. I never had the emotional attachment but going through it pyshically I am very sympathetic to everyone dealing with this issue. I extremely recommend Florida Detox to anyone searching for help.
