This could have been my husband and his ex-wife up there.  She led him to believe he was father to his oldest.  He went to every doctor vist, cut his cord at birth and took care of him.  She was cheating on him the entire w/ a previous boyfriend. (The son was born 10 months after my husband and his ex-wife's wedding).  He paid child support for 18 years, the whole time she told every one in town that he was not the father.  The really sad part was, the previous boyfriend moved back in.  Not only was my husband paying for another man's child, his ex-wife was now back with the real father, getting child support from my husband.  My husband never said a word to his son (he still considers him his son, although the son feels my husband wasn't around enough). She never complied with the courts visitation.  He paid but never saw his children.  My husband has never recovered from this emotionally and never will. Our counselor said his ex-wife committed parental alienation.His "son" feels that my husband didn't do enough with him.  WHEN WILL MOTHERS BE HELD REPSPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS! We decided we would never pursue this because we have 2 children together and its not worth the turmoil it would cause them.  IT JUST HURTS WHEN THAT SON THINKS HIS MOTHER WALKS ON WATER!
