Get rid of her

She is the 2nd teacher with in 3 years that has been fired from the Glen Rose district for having inappropriate relations with a student.  That teacher went on his way and she should too.

Just because she spent a bunch of money on a high priced lawyer to get her acquited does not mean she's innocent.  For example, we all know OJ is guilty for a double murder, but he was found not guilty in a court of law due to her expensive defense team.  Money can and will get you out of most any jam.

Failed Tests

Quote From: pinkstar3

HMMM.....I can't decide who I believe in this case. Both parties have valid points about certain things however, at the same time their stories are both real unclear to me. I don't like that the boys have failed numerous lie detector tests but on the same hand I think that the teachers demeanor is unprofessional.

Matt and the other boy, both passed lie detector tests in the original inverstigation back in 2002.  They both felt that they would certainly pass another lie detector test, that's why they did go thru with it on the show.  So, they have only failed 1 polygraph test, so they have passed 1 and failed 1.  Joelle refused the polygraph. HMMMM.....only a liar would be scared of a polygraph especially if  she is going on the show to clear her name, I would think she would ask to take a polygraph. I would.

Also, lawyers who tend to think their clients are lying always tell them not to take polygraphs.  Just ask one yourself, if you don't believe me.

I'd also like to add, that the "I Never" game is pretty much like playing "Truth or Dare", why on Earth would you play that game in your classroom????

The notes?!!? What was she thinking?????  I totally believe Matt.

I don't think it's the boys that have gone this far with a lie, I think it's Joelle that stands to lose everything if and she's the one that refused to admit what she's done with these students.

And it is rather odd, that she married her teacher about a year after she graduated from the HIGH SCHOOL and if you'll notice Doug is a good 10 years older than Joelle.  Makes you think.....

Gimme a Break!!

Quote From: beinformed

If you believe in the polygraphs, why should she take one?  They were proven liars.  She did pass one when the accusations first came out.

She did not marry her teacher.  She married her former teacher.  There's a big difference!  Their wedding was attended by many teachers from the school.

It is very hard to prove that somehing did not happen.  You have to rely on inconsistencies in the accusations.  When significant parts of the story changes that shows deception.  Remember, when you tell the truth, you don't have to remember what you said!

She married her "former" teacher within 1 year of graduating from HIGH SCHOOL.

Yes, that is very highly suspicious.  The way you write your comments, it's as if you are Joelle, or at least her best friend, maybe your Doug.

Like Dr. Phil always says. "Past behavior is the best way to predict future behavior." - Joelle crossed the line before and she crossed it again.  She's a habitual line stepper.

Throwing stones in a glass house

Quote From: grwatcher

I am a resident of Glen Rose and have been watching this drama unfold every since it hit the airways.  I was unaware of many of the specifics until they were revealed on the show.  One thing  is obviously clear is that there is not and will never be a clear solution to this sad situation.  I feel for the Ogletree family and their supporters as well as both kid's family's because neither will ever get the satisfaction of being declared the absolute winner.  Our court system decided that fate when they falied to convict or clear her of the CPS report charges.  What remains of this situation is simply a he said/she said argument with an outstanding CPS report out there that states they think she did it along with some strong physical evidence (the notes) that clearly indicate something inappropriate happened at the very least.  The truth no doubt lies somewhere between what Ms. Ogletree is claiming and what the boys are claiming.

Maisae and several other local supporters have diligently rebutted many of the posts on this board from around the world that have sided against the Ogletrees.  These supporters want our local school board to allow Ms. Ogletree to have access to our  schools children.  I know without a doubt that Maisae and these supporters are genuine well intentioned people.  As a matter of fact I am pretty sure I know who Maisae is from the personal information she has given out in her posts.  My point is....I  can't imagine how they  could possibly expect a school board (that has sworn to protect these kids) to allow a teacher or volunteer on campus that has so many "red flags" in their background check.  If this was a suspect they didn't personally know, I don't think they would encourage the school to take a chance  that someone might be innocent.  So what if a state sanctioned panel made up of three active teachers (not judges) gave her certificate back.  They didn't have access to, or consider the CPS report.  No one with an outstanding and unresolved CPS report should be allowed in our schools.  Shame on you Ms. Maisae for continually suggesting they should.  With your background in education, you should know better than that.  The citizens of Glen Rose elected our school board to keep our kids safe and to error on the side of safety in the event of a judgement call.  This situation is tragicly unfortunate if Ms. Ogletree is completely innocent but that will never be proven and the Glen Rose school system is not where we want her innocence to be  tested.  The fact that about half of the 1600 posts on this board think she is guilty is evidence that this is a grey area judgement call to say the least.  Ms Maisae, I know you will continue to post your elequent and tasteful rebuttals but I must say once again, shame on you for asking our school board to take a risk with our kids.  They are the most important resource we have and they hold our future in their hands.

Don't you find it just a little funny, that the Joelle supporters of Glen Rose, only want to bad-mouth the supporters of the boys (i.e the victims of the whole shameful situation), the boys themselves and even their parents.  We all know the parents, we all know the kids.  There was even a post I saw on here yesterday, where a former female student of Ms. Ogletree's claimed that Ms. Ogletree also made inappropriate comments and advances to her brother and her brothers friends and she believes firmly that Ms. Ogletree would act out like that again.  The former female student even said her brother and his friends never said anything to the officials because they didn't want to be a part of the whole drama and that is why I believed the first boy recanted his story so that he wouldn't have to go thru the drama of all this.

I pray Joelle never sees a dime of the money for which she's suing GRISD.  Not one single dime!!

Kudos GRWATCHER, Kudos!

Quote From: mgrlady

1.  This teachers innocence has been proven in the court due to the fact their "case" was baseless, and therefore dismissed.

2.  When the prosecutor's found that EACH of these boys stories fell apart in the light of day, it PROVED the teachers innocence.

3.  The facts presented on the Dr. Phil show substantiate the innocence of this teacher.  The ONLY fact on your side of this score sheet after the show is an allegation.  (Which was repeatedly proven FALSE!)

4.  An expert in CPS has proven that there is NOTHING "outstanding" with respect to this teacher.   Again, a false allegation.

The children of Glen Rose should be protected from people like YOU!  Shame on you for the poor example you are setting for your children and the children in this community!  How very sad that the future YOU are building and passing along to them is one that supports dishonesty, distortion and witch hunting!

1. A mistrial does not confirm innocence.

2. In no way has the teachers innocence been proven in any way.  Even Dr. Phil couldn't tell us who he believed and he almost always does.

3. From watching her on Dr. Phil she looks more suspectful than ever.

4. To be honest, I don't want anyone who has ever been investigated by CPS to be in our schools. Period. End of story.  Where there's smoke, there's fire.  My children are way too important for me to gamble with their innocence.

And contrary to what you said about "grwatcher", I think Glen Rose needs to be protected from people like YOU!!! I am Glen Rose and my family has been there since it was founded.  You're the only one shaming the community, I mean besides Joelle, of course.
