Focusing on what's important

Before coming here to read the posts I first emailed A&E TV about this subject.  I DO NOT believe that Dog should lose his show over this mainly due to the fact that this conversation was between a son and his father to begin with.  If anyone has watched the Dog on Larry King made a very respectful and repentful apology to the public and personally I think that is all that is needed.  Everyone makes mistakes in this area no matter what race you are.  Everyone at one time or another has made some kind of racial reference either to their friends or just to themselves.  The man is sorry and repentful so the more this stays in the media and the more hype it gets there is no way for him to let it go.  As far as him not coming to the show here, most people need time to deal with this type of family stress without going all over the public talk shows.  The show here probably would have been better to invite him in a couple of weeks instead of right away.  Going on Larry King for right now I think is enough until he gets his future worked out with A&E.  Also, for the public to judge him so harshly on what he said without knowing the total why is so unfairly judgemental.  He thought he had knowledge, trusted knowledge from a trusted source, about the girlfriend causing conflict within his family.  Dog found out he was wrong after the fact.  But for everyone sitting there judging him for his unfortunate and hurtful words, I have one simple question for you:  how many of you said something so outrageous and out of character for you that when you thought a girlfriend/boyfriend of a close family member was committing an act to hurt your family unit in some way?  How did you act in that heat of the moment?  Think back real careful.  You may not have said the "N" word but I bet  you majorly over-reacted in a much later regretful way and had to eat a lot of crow when you found out your information was wrong.  Multiply that by 100 and take it to the depths of the deepest ocean and you still won't have any idea what he is going through due to the fact he is in the public eye.  Stop judging and start forgiving and give the man and his family a second chance by emailing A&E TV for their consideration of putting the man's show back on so he can provide a safer world.
