need weight loss buddies

I've been up and down the scale many times, and for way too many years I've needed to lose over a 100 pounds.  I'm 5 '5 and weigh 275 pounds. For about 3 weeks I've been keeping a food diary, and exercising. I exercised 4 days this last week and 3 the two before. I've lost 3.5 pounds and 8 and half inches. I'm starting rather slowly. I just got a cast off my arm last Tuesday. The doctor said that I need to wait a couple of weeks before I use hand weights in my workouts.  I really want to finally be healthy. At 16 I starved myself to a 113 pounds and didn't feel good.

inspired

I'm a 50 yr old mom who has had about 25 lbs to lose since having my last child eight years ago.  I tried different workouts such as walking on the treadmill or weight training at the gym sporadically but never stuck to anything.  I also tried walking a mile a day for a couple of months.  No change.  Finally I was insipired by a friend who lost over 60 lbs by walking 5 miles a day.  I started about 5 weeks ago and although I haven't lost weight, I've gone down a size.  I know this is because my weight not comes from a greater muscle mass and less fat mass.  I'm encouraged for the first time in eight years.  When I go out walking, I don't even get winded until I've walked at least three miles so it is that last two miles that make the difference.    I also vary my walks so I am walking uphill and downhill for a change of pace.  I really feel the pull in the back of my legs when I walk uphill and so I call it walk-o-suction.

I'm a 43 yr old mom who has 125 pounds to lose. I'm only 25 pounds heavier than when I had my second and last child 6 years ago. I've done some studying on exercising and lots of studying of nutrition. Finally, I need to put knowledge in action and I'll definitely need the support and inspiration of others, especially God. I started a food diary 3 weeks ago and exercised 4 days last week and 3 the two weeks before. Beginning slowly, I walk 30 to 45 minutes and work on 3 machines along with ab crunches. So far, I've lost 4 pounds and 8 and a half inches. Since I measure head to toe that's not even a size, but I do feel better, just really sore.  I just got my arm out of a cast Tuesday and the Doctor said I need to wait a few more weeks before I use free weights.

Down 10 pounds & 100 + pounds to go.....

Quote From: adamsmommy

My name's michelle, and I'm just starting the challenge to lose 100 lbs! So if anyone can give me any tips, that would be great!! I'm 21 years old, and have an eight month old.. I weigh close to 250 lbs now. I'm more motivated than ever to lose weight. I want to be healthy for me and my son. I don't want him to grow up to b overweight as well. So wish me luck!!

My name is Laura, 43 yrs old with a 6 year old girl and a 7 and a half year old boy.  I was over 282 pounds and am at 270.8 lbs. I've started once again down this road, about a month ago, this time I'm changing my life not just starting a diet.  So, it won't matter if injuries or other complications come up....I'll just keep, keeping along. I'm very motivated this time, but I definitely need support, as much as possible. I want my daughter to know that you can be at a healthy weight through eating right & exercise. I need to be an example while my kids are still young and at a healthy size. I'm wishing everyone luck & praying for us all!

Quote From: sparow64

I am right there with you Shelley!!  I am soooo ready to be OUT of plus sizes...my 3X's have gotten too big, but, the 2X's still fit... I have already lost some, but, I started at the same weight and have the same weight goal!   I would love to e-mail with you and support eachother if you want!   sparow64@yahoo.com

I have the same goal as you. I'm a little older (43) and weigh more (270), but I also have a goal of 135 pounds. Many moons ago I was smaller than that, but 135 would be amazing now!! I'm also really tired of the 2X's and 3X's, it varies. I have lost 12 pounds so I'm on my way! If you don't have too many weight loss buddies  already....LAFrasier@gmail.com
