Answering the question...

Quote From: prestype

OMG, Paul Mooney!!!  That man HATES white people.  You can just see it on his face.  He is the most bigoted man I have ever seen.   I am surprised that he gave Dr. Phil the respect to come on the show!!!  It seems to me that any black comedian can say "cracker", "white devil" or any other slur, but if someone white says the N-word or any other thing, they wind up apologizing to Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton.  Speaking of Al Sharpton, during the Tawana Brawley fiasco, (I'm sure many New Yorkers remember that) I was in Downtown Brooklyn on Jury Duty walking around Court Street at lunchtime.  Down the block comes the Rev. Al Sharpton.  (Alton Maddox's office was on Court Street).  Well, the Rev. Sharpton had on the most beautiful blue pin stripped suit and he looked very handsome in it.  I walked by him and said "Rev. Al, beautiful suit".  This man looked at me as if he wanted me dead.  I knew it was because I was white.  He didn't want to know anything from me because I was white, but I only wanted to compliment him.  It reminded me of how Malcolm X treated white people that only wanted to help his cause.  I laughed that day and I laugh now at how he tries to make it look like he is a good guy.  Another thing, about Barack Obama, where is his WHITE mother.  She is never around.  Unless she is dead, I think that he should have her with him because you know this whole thing is going to become a racial card and if mom shows up, this wil be avoided.  And the N-word, to me it means ignorant and believe me, I know a lot of N white people.  If you are genuinely a good person, color doesn't matter, but please don't be a phony.  If you don't like white people just because they are white, say so.  Don't tell me about your ancestors being slaves.  My people didn't come to this country until the early 1900's from Naples, Italy.  They were too poor to eat, let alone have a slave.  Just remember, if you are going to give it out, your going to get it back.
Barak Obama's mother died of cancer some years ago.  It is very public and well reported information.

White's Only?

Quote From: bnnubian

I am a 33yr. old blackman born and raised in harlem,NY. I am so feed up with the sugar-coated approach that america has taken. In all reality the words comes from racism and hatred. In order to continue I must first explain or we should have a common understanding of the TRUE DEFINITION of RACISM=White Supremacy!!! Now I know plenty of you(mostly white)will disagree with that definition, but lets take a look at HISTORY. Name 1 race of people who have gone around the world setting up a system based on color besides white people? No other group of people have done it.As far back as the greeks and romans have white done this.Ok now lets look at american society, which continues this tradition of racism(WHITE SUPREMACY). In televison u see whites continue to promote racism(White Supremacy) on a daily basis.Blacks account for maybe 10-20% of all crime in america, but by watching t.v. u get the impression that blacks are accountable for 90% of all crime here in america. That is just 1 of the avenues that racism takes in it's destructive path.In school u learn about greek mytholoy and european writers and white american writers. You have to take a class on african-americans or africans as an elective in high school or the college level to learn of our contributions to society and the world! why is that? Why must I be spoon feed white history in a country that takes pride in its diverse make-up?Racism(White Supremacy) is the reason why!I have noticed a pattern in the way White think and act! From greeks to romans from vikings to teutons, whites are not satisfied until they have control over everything. If you disagree please feel free to give show me where I am lying.I am not here to bash white, but to signal the time for accountability! When discussions come up about the N-word or racism people tend to act like they don't know where it comes from or "why black people tend to shout!" The answer is right there in front your face look at history, look at the white leaders of today who continue to do what their white ancestors have done in the past. Dr. Phil you need to do a show on the definition of Racism(white Supremacy).Because when you do you will see how true my definition by the reaction of your white viewers. They will not accept that definition and probably call you crazy, lol. But we need to understand and have a common ground before we can actually begin to erase Racism(white supremacy).Only when whites come to see the error of their ways can we as a nation(blacks,native-americans,asians,europeans and others here from another country)move forward in harmony. So i challenge whites to understand my definition and realize that if you are not part of the solution, then u are probably part of the problem.

History has taught me that all races have at one time or another enslaved people in some form whether it be their OWN people or otherwise.  Let's not forget that there were Africans that profited from the selling of their own people.  Salvery isn't a 'white thing' - it's a human thing and it's wrong.  I don't want to be judged for anything I myself do not do much like you would not like to be judged next to a man who chooses criminal behavior.

"I have noticed a pattern in the way White think and act!"

Isn't it terrible when you hear any person say, "Those black people..."  Why should you be judged based on someone elses actions?  You don't want to be judged that way so why would you commit the same offense against me?  I'm white and apparently this means I am a supremisicst by the explaination you offer above.

Hmmm?  Let's all put our thinking caps on and rethink how we justify our own behaviors before pointing fingers at groups of others.

Brief Snap of History

Quote From: bnnubian

Where are these africans that profitted from the slave trade? Are they on the nasdaq dow jones or in the fortune 500? If you find them please let me know cause they owe me back wages for my great-great-great-great-great grandfather's work.

Again, slavery is a human problem and not specific to 'whites'.

This isn't a defense, y'know.  It's just fact.  It's happened for centuries and isn't unique to blacks and whites - not by a long shot.  It's wrong.  The point is that 'pointing fingers' is not motivating education, understanding, or empahy.  To point fingers and label is to be as guilty of that which you despise.  Racism.

Thank You.

Quote From: skylerj65

It very much upset me when the gentle man on your show said he was brouhgt here as a slave. Then he became very angry screaming that his people were brought here in chains. We all know that is true.My people were American Indians. Does he realize the horror that they went thru? They had everything taken from them.To this day they are still treated poorly. We would all do well to remember "our people"were not the only ones who suffered greatly at the hands of others. It is time we let go of the past and remember we are all of the HUMAN RACE before we are anything else.

Thank you for this post.

It is empathetic to all people, respects all people and is quite refreshing.

Thinking Caps

Quote From: leshiamae

tht is true sold by blacks to the whites and paid for it in times of famine an poverty...a starving man will do anything for a 5 course meal....so know your history and think first....
I'm not on board with the negative tone of the post you quoted in your reply but I have my thinking cap on and in what space and time does it make it okay that any person sells another person for WHATEVER reason?  I'm sorry but every race and culture in history is guilty of human sales and enslavement and there is no justification that can be made and especially one that removes ownership and accountability.  All involved are accountable less the person who was themselves sold and enslaved.

Confusing to say the least!

Quote From: amyaaron86

 Hi Dr. Phil;

I had my 9 year old daughter and 3 year old son taken from me on 1986, I had left them  to play

with other children with a 14 yaer old baby sitting while I ran to the store. It was in may of that year

so it stayed light out side later than i the winter. Well I was gone for not more than an hour, and when

I returned there was a card from the local police department. So I called to see what had happened,

and the mother of the other children was busted for credit card fraud, and when they came to pick up

her children they took mine also, the officer said that they had already been placed, it was about

7:30, but he said I should not have any problem getting my kids because I was not involved, but he

said I would have to wait until the next  day to pick them up. Well I tell you that was the longest night

in my life. The next morning I did not bother calling CPS I just went there expecting to pick up my

children. Well when I got there this woman had talked to my mother, whom we are not close at all.

She started acusing me of all these crimes I supose to have done, all I had was a ticket for driving

with out my licence in posseion, which I had just not with me. I could not believe it was the worst night

mare in my life. My kids were my life. And from that day on I lost my kids just on faulse accusations

from my own mother, she even got up on the first court hearing, and told the judge she did not want them

but she did not want  me to have them either. To this day I have not talked to my mother.

What state do you live in and did you hire a lawyer?

It is very random and very unusual for a court system to take children away from a parent, especially a mother based on accusation alone without evidence to confirm.  I don't mean to imply that you are not writing your whole truth but it is confusing and I'd love to know what steps you took to regain your children during and after this experience?  The social welfare system is a long way from perfect and more often than not children are falling through the cracks before they are wrongly removed from a home.

I am very interested in your story!  And I do write that with sincerity.

How do we REALLY know?

Quote From: getrealtime

Casey has been in her parents home now for 3 weeks and no one is asking her any question about where is Calyee.  This disturbes me!!!!!! If the grandparents really thinks that the child is alive why??? are they not on her to tell them more then just the lies she has been telling???? everthing she has told is a lie, so how can they see her in their house day in and day out knowing she is the only one that can save Caylee, but remains silent. That tells me alot about the grandparents, They know something, because there is no way they could sit by  week after week with the one person that has the answers to their questions and they say nothing to her ask her nothing and has come forth with nothing.
How do we really know if Casey Anthony is being grilled or not.  We've all heard the police tapes; she lies with abandon.  Her parents could be asking her and pleading with her daily.  Her parents could have sought professional help that informed them to NOT oppose themselves to their daughter at this point in time.  I'm sure it is difficult for them (the grandparents) and possibly having her (Casey) in their home offers them some hope, some open pathway of communication that 'maybe she'll begin to tell'.  Who are we as a people to stand outside their home or on a message board 1,000 miles away and judge or point fingers.  The truth is NONE of us knows what is happening behind closed doors anymore than we know exactly what the police know or don't know -- Assumptions are dangerous most of the time.
