There goes the civil rights movement...

I grew up in the 1980s. I listened to rappers like KRS1 and Public Enemy. Although I am not black the message of self awareness and struggle were universal. There was one song by Public Enemy that Flava Flav did called "No Ni**er". It taught me no one will respect me until I respect myself. I think gangsta rap gives young people a false sense of empowerment. Young BLACK people today really need to count the cost of their freedom and know that good peple payed a dear price for their freedom of expression. Dr. King is probably rolling in his grave right about now. There goes the civil rights movement!!! The youth of today seem to treat it like a bwel movement!!!

WILLFULL IGNORANCE

Quote From: zookeeper1

What do you mean this is why biracial children aren't accepted?

If there was a White man that wanted to date me, and I was attractive to him - I would tell him the way I felt about marriage and kids.  If he still wanted to date me, that would be up to him.

There seems to be a certain segment of the white population that will not step out of  their comfort  zone and get an education and some cultural submersion in their lives. it's as if they're operating their lives out of pure willfull ignorance. This portion of the white population think they know what is best for themselves and everybody else in society when they obviously have no clue how to interact with real HUMAN BEINGS. Get with the program people. The landscape of America is no longer lilly white...it's turning wonderful shades of brown, red, yellow, saphron, coacoa and onyx. VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE.
