Still alive/weigh in
I weighed this morning and have lost four pounds since I went in for surgery. Now 165. Don't know exactly how it happened as I have had no real exercise. Appetite was non existent but then I sometimes ate some ice cream just to have anything that tasted pleasant.
My left knee replacement surgery was 3 weeks ago tomorrow. I had help at home for the first week; a lady from a group called Comfort Keepers stayed with me 7 hours each day. That really helped, not only in maintaining my house but by taking me to therapy every day. Then my son stepped in on weekends and bathed the dogs, brought in stuff, and took care of the trash. Now I am totally on my own as he is taking his family to DisneyWorld tomorrow.
I only used a walker the first week. Now use a cane about 70% of the time. Do move around on my own in the house much of the time. I can drive so am taking myself to therapy and sometimes stop to pick up something small at the grocery store. Hard to think of anything that would even taste good.
Don't have much energy to post or things to say if I did. Slow to get moving in the morning. Don't like to take much medication before my therapy as I am driving there and back. So, by the time I get home at 2, I am in pain, take medication and go back to bed. It would be a dull life to anybody else but even getting one trash sack out of the house can be a triumph. Dear Dogs are keeping me entertained.
