Use birth control, women!

Gloria Alred says millions of un-wed mothers are on welfare because men won't pay. No. Millions of women are on welfare because they had unprotected sex before marriage.

It takes two to make a baby but it only takes one woman to prevent it. She has a dozen good choices of birth control plus the option of adoption. If she decides to have sex without good birth control, gets pregnant and then decides to keep the baby, then she and she alone, should be responsible for raising it.

Our laws should force single mothers to step up and take sole responsibility for the bad choices they have made. Children are suffering and it's not going to be solved by dragging fathers, kicking and screaming, into court. When men were not forced to pay child support for children outside of marriage -- only 3% were illegitimate. If we want to protect children we will return to that standard. As it is now, single women are just using their own children to punish men and get a free ride in life.

Only women can solve this problem. We've tried the forced child support method and it's not working.

Whoa there, Missie!

I believe you're the one who's stuck in the past, if you think young girls who get pregnant are the innocent victims of smooth operators with two-toned shoes and twirling mustaches.

Today's young woman, even teens, know all about how babies are made and, unlike the 1950's girls, they have a dozen good choices of birth control -- most of them much more reliable than the condoms men have.

It does take two to tango but it only takes one smart girl to go to a clinic and get a shot that will keep her from getting pregnant for 3 years.  It only takes one (the girl) to decide on abortion.  It only takes one (the girl) to decide on adoption.  It only takes one (the girl) to decide to keep the child.  Men do not have equal rights or equal responsiblilities in these situations, so you might as well quit trying to blame them for everything.

Great show

Nobody does a better job of educating the public about mental illness than Dr Phil.  I thought I knew a good bit about OCD but I learned so much today.  I was particularly interested to hear that treating the problem was not so much a matter of getting over the anxiety as it was a matter of learning to live with it until it tappered off on it's own.

Even if I don't have a particular illness, there is always something I can take from these shows to use in my own life.  Learning to live with small amounts of anxiety (like the anxiety I experience when I don't use food to sooth myself) is an important message.
