lol, yeah thas about right. I think its funny that he thinks that if he over taxes the rich everything will be better. Just like over taxing the oil companies has helped right?

What about McCain? He wants to give tax-breaks to the rich, doesn't even know how many homes he owns....

Sounds like his plans will eliminate the middle-class, make the rich richer and the poor poorer, help out foreign companies, oil companies....no plans for alternative fuels?

If I was rich, I'd be glad to help out more than the poor can. WTF? How greedy do they have to be? It can all be set up fairly...it's already set up so it's "the more ya make, the more they take"....some people just need to learn how to live within thier means and learn how to share the wealth...and they would STILL have plenty to live in luxury. Geeeez.

It isnt' that simple at all. All legislation is Congress's responsibility. The President doesn't make laws. Congress does. The President is the Executive office, he doesn't make laws.

The Congressional record for the last two years (a Democrat Congress) absolutely blows. That is their fault and no one elses. What makes you think that Obama in office would make the Congress function any better?

Don't you remember all those campaign promises about how if we put Democrats in the Congress this last term election, they could fix this country and save it from Bush? Pfffft....such fodder. lol

Ami

I've never been into politics. I dont' remember crap cuz I didn't know anything about it, nor did I care to....just a bunch of b.s. as far as I was concerned. Hmmmm perhaps I was on to something there....LOL

Anyway...aren't there lobbyists? Don't they DO something toward swaying people to get something done...getting bills into Congress n stuff? Where do they get their ideas? From other people, right?

You do have a point but we are not a socialst country the governent should not tell people how to spend their money it isn't right. We are for FREEDOM, well we used to be anyway

I think it's actually more of a communist idea...but that's not the point.

I just think that if you have the opportunities that the Freedoms of this wonderful country offers, and you succeed at them, then it's not too much to ask that you put something back into the system to help out the rest that are also trying.

yes but the government shouldn't make you.

Over taxing the rich won't fix anything it will only make it worse. Just like it did with the oil companies. Overtaxing them only made the price go up.

Like the greedy bastards are gonna just give out of the kindness of their hearts????? Bwaaaaahahahaha. Yeah right. LOL

We NEED to find alternatives instead of depending on foreign oil companies. We need to be an independent country.

I am done arguing with you about this. I am not a socialsit I don't beleive the same way you do. I have made my point very clear.

yes and I believe McCain will try to help with that.

Socialist??? Arguing?????

Moody much tonight Mitzy???? Geeez.

Just because we have differing opinions doesn't mean we are arguing. I'm not sure what you consider a socialist. I think you may be confused, though.

Sorry if you're upset by debate.

Wow, someone has given you the kool-aid pitcher to drink! ;)

He has never said he was giving tax breaks to the rich. He said he believed in tax breaks for businesses so they could continue to grow and hire more people. Wealthy people own businesses and hire people. Poor people don't hire anyone, they don't create jobs and they don't pay any taxes anyway.

Obama promising a tax break to middle class and taxing higher to the wealthy business owners will do nothing but cause people to be laid off. That working middle class, hellooooo, will be jobless.

As far as alternative fuels. Obama and Biden are both on record for saying no to Clean Coal, and then saying yes to it. Yet there are interviews where they said no. Ethanol...which Obama backs...is costing us more than just buying oil even at the inflated prices we are paying. Ethanol takes exactly the same energy to produce as it creates, so it is complete wash. Yet Obama wants us to continue growing a corn based ethanol industry. If he had any sense at all he would at least be smart enough to go for the sugar based ethanol that holds some small promise of a better ratio of return for the energy out put to produce it. *rolls eyes*

If you tax businesses in this country even more, tell me who do you think will actually pay the tax? The owners? No they won't pay it either. They will simply increase their selling price of whatever goods they provide. And you and me and all consumers who buy those products will actually be paying the taxes. This is how economics works. Costs are passed down to consumers. As someone pointed out, the oil industry now is taxed out the wazoo. Who is paying that tax? You and me that's who. I honestly feel sorry for Obama because the man has no grasp whatsoever of how a market economy works.

Or maybe he does actually. The Democrat platform has never been for business in this country. No reason to think it would be now.

On the fuels thing. We need to drill here NOW. We need to set a market of 27 years that we will drill here supply our own oil and wean ourselves from all foriegn oil. Then we need to create HUGE tax incentives for the energy industry to put their r&d departments to work to find alternative sourced that are viable...not some corn based ethanol fiasco. But some real alternatives like bio-diesel and hydrogen cells, etc. Make it worth their while to find a solution. Twenty seven years and our greatest minds at work on it. A national goal. But we cannot continue to make the middle east and Venezuela fat cats with our money while we do it. Drill ours, use it for our people to better our nation. And stop handing our wealth as a nation to countries that would use our own money to destroy us. That is what McCain wants. That is what I want.

Sorry to get on my high horsey....the energy thing irks me to know end. That and the misconception that somehow the rich cause the problems in this country. Such nonsense.

Ami

Don't know what the Kool-Aide thing means....but just been listening to the stuff on the T.V. Perhaps I misunderstood...dunno.

Thank you for the information. This is clear, conscise, and intellectual. Very much appreciated.

I agree, we need NOT raise taxes on businesses....I totally get that.

I also agree with alternative fuels and drilling for our own, if we are going to continue using oil for any fuel.

I'm not saying that the rich cause problems in the country, but  power and greed do.

Well McCain is for everything you just said and Obama is not. Except maybe the fuel thing. I don't think anyone really knows where he stasnds on that he keeps going back and forth on that. I guess it depends on who is giving the interview to what he believes at the time
See, that's the thing....I had heard that he supported all those foreign oil companies, staying in the war, supporting the importing, outsourcing...all of that which I don't like at all.
