Am having a great time with Mum being here. Mark left alittle while ago to go down south for his Course he will be back next Friday. So it's nice to have Mum here to keep Stephanie and I company. Well you all TAKE CARE and it's good to be back home on the boards.

HI TRACE...

Quote From: lokithor

Hi guys. Looks like I won't be around for awhile. My Windows program has been corrupted and the computer has to be wiped clean. No way of saving a damn thing; my stories, photo files, nothing. Can't even get into my email program so if you've sent stuff to me and I haven't replied - well, there you have it.

I'm royally PO'd. Will try to hit an internet cafe every once in awhile to check up on everyone. I have an alternate email address - traceshan_prior@yahoo.com just in case you want to say howdy.

JP - I hope you've kept my phone number!!! KAK, I'm so sorry about Miss Murphy. Neecie, have a great reunion! Kelly, hugs to you and Stephanie and Mark. Vicki - I'm always waving hi at you! Juss, keep that lance a tiltin'! Ami, continued happiness and weirdness! Sue - what the hell, I'll be calling you as usual. And Tap - oh my friend, what canI say (except too much as usual) Thanks so much for your story... no AIM'ing for us for while I guess.

I'm sure I've forgotten someone - please don't take it personally. I love you all! Have no fear (or maybe you should!) I'll be back!

And now, on that note, I'm going to buy me a typewriter (no fear of identity theft there; by the way who the hell would want mine anyway?) and throw this piece of sh**computer out the window! Hopefully it willland on the head of the hacker who did this to me.

Hugs and love,

Trace.

Sorry to hear about what happened to your computer. It's a real pain in your know what when some looser decides to stuff with your computer, eh!! Just hope you can get things sorted out with the computer and it doesn't end up costing you an arm and a leg!!

Thanks for the hugs, right back at you Trace!!

Well you TAKE CARE and hope to see you back hear as soon as you can get back here. LOVE KELLY.

HI NEECIE...

Quote From: neecie24

We're headed off for Tucson in the morning!! Hooray!! I expect all you guys and gals to get this place rocking by the time I get back. Don't be intimidated -- we're too close and WAAAAY to important to each other, to let this little hiccup stand in our way. Honestly, I don't think it's as weird as it appears. One big diff is when you reply to a post, that post gets included in yours, so others can follow the converstaion. Might not be such a bad idea!

Hang in there, I'll be thinking about you lots. I don't expect to have web access while I'm there, so I'll report back when I get home. Take care! I love you!!

Neecie

Hope you see this message before you go away.

Just want to wish you and Erin a great time while you are away. And we will see you back here soon. TAKE CARE. LOVE KELLY.

HI JB7CTX....

Quote From: jb7ctx

I have a 5 y/o son who is Type 1 Diabetic and insulin dependant. I feel pain in my heart for him. Each day is a struggle for him. He has to have 3 shots of insulin a day. He is angry. He yells: " I dont want diabeties! I dont want no shot, it hurts! " I know he has to have these shots in order to live, but he doesnt understand that yet. I have done alot of research on diabeties. His life span is 10 years shorter than someone without it. He is at a higher risk for heart failure, kidney disease. He is subject to start having heart attacks and strokes in his late twenties, early thirties. His vision will eventually get poor. If his blood sugar gets too high or too low he is subject to go into a coma or even death. We/he have to take special care of his feet or he will lose them later on in life. He has some days where he will scream and hit the walls and cry if his sugar is too high or too low. All of this is tearing my heart up. I keep asking God, why? Why him? Why did he get this? I sometimes sit in my room and cry. My 5 y/o son came in one day and saw me crying and said: " I have diabeties, what's wrong with you "? I know he can live a healthy, productive life if we take good care of his diabeties. He was diagnosed in November, 2004 when he was 4 y/o. His blood sugar was over 600 when he went into the hospital. God saved him. When ever I feel depressed and have a problem, I think about my sons life and my problem is no longer a problem. We monitor him closely. We check his sugar 4-6 times a day. He is on a special diet. He starts kindergarten this year and I am worried about him going to school. I know he will be fine, but I cant help but worry. There is an old poem that really helps us in times of desparation. It is called: "footrints in the sand". I feel for everyone who has to live their life with some type of pain, but with the Grace of God, he will carry us all through it. Just wanted to share our story. God Bless you all. jb7ctx

Just wanted to write and say that I do understand what your son is going through as I am also Diabetic. I have been since Sept 2000. I am now 35 years of age and am quite healthy.

One thing my Specialist told me afew years ago was that as long as you can keep your blood sugars under good control there is much less chance of having health problems later on in life. And I do have very good control of my sugars.

When I last saw my Specialist which was only two weeks ago he told me that I was one of his easier patients because I DO keep my sugars under good control.

3 years ago I became pregnant and had to go on insulin fulltime, before being pregnant I was on tablets only, but after finding out that I was pregnant I had to stop taking them as they could have harmed the baby. I was then on insulin until after I had my little girl. I had to give myself 4 needles per day and check my sugars sometimes up to 8 times a day. I had to keep my sugars very low all the time so that my baby didn't end up being too big. And in keep my sugars very low I had alot of Hypos's. And yes Hypo's can be just as bad as having too higher sugars for any one but especially pregnant women.

My baby girl was born fine and after spending 24 hours in Newborn Care to check her sugars she was fine no problems there. After I had Stephanie I was able to go back to tablets and I only have night time insulin.  She is now 3 and doing great, as for me I'm doing fine as well. This coming September I will have had Diabetes for 5 years and so far no other health problems and I hope to keep it that way for many years to come.

In time your son will come to see having diabetes as just part of his life. I have a friend who has lived with diabetes since she was four and yes she does health problems but these are due to her not looking after herself as a teenager.  She told me herself that if she had taken better care during her teen years then she wouldn't have half the problems she's got now.

I hope that this has helped in some way. Just know that your son will be ok and he will live for many years to come and will be a very happy and healthy child as look as he looks after himself. Please TAKE CARE. LOVE KELLY.

HI VICKI....

Quote From: vnoe07

OK, I'm still getting confused, but thats just the way it is.  The one thing I liked about the DP boards is that it wasn't all that complicated.  NOW I AM FINDING IT COMPLICATED, but somehow I don't think it takes that much to make me confused these days.

I'm glad we can all finally come back to our usual meeting grounds.  I missed you all so much.

Last weekend we spent it camping at the ND State Fair.  It was heaps of fun....I left the girls with G'ma and G'pa.  They had a great time too!

Anyways, got lots to do, but I wanted to come check this place out.  I've got to repack my bags as we are heading to Ron's for the night to watch his ballgame.

HITYAL????

Hugs,

Vicki

How's things with you and your girls? Hope you're all doing well.

How's things going with Ron? Hope you're happy with him at this moment.

So have you decided now not to take that job at S'toon? Now that you've met Ron?

Are enjoying Mum being here very much. We have been very busy while Mum has been here. I think we've had 2 maybe 3 days at home so far and have been going here there and everywhere!! But it's been great to have Mum here while Mark is away. He will be back tomorrow(Friday).

Yes, I'm like you with the new look here at the DP boards but it's nice to have a change. Well you and your girls TAKE CARE and we will be in touch soon. LOVE KELLY.

GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU, NEECIE....

Quote From: neecie24

I'm having a great time!!  I'm supposed to be in rehearsal right now, but I'm slackin' ;)  (We always put on a show where each era gets onstage and performs a couple songs from their show -- don't worry if that makes no sense)  I really can't tell you how incredibulous it is to be here.  Total honesty here:  you guys are great!  but the folks here in Tucson with me are my family.  Nobody can compare.  It just doesn't get any better in life then to be with them.  My friend, the Swiss pastry chef, who was on the food network, just did a chocolate tasting for us, using chocolate from the company he consults for -- just about THE finest choc. in the world -- sorry, but it sucks to be you. [huge wink

I'll tell you more about it when I get back.  Erin's doing great, but I'm beginning to feel guilty about skipping rehearsal - gotta go. Love you all!

Neecie

Hi Neecie and Erin, glad to hear you're both having a great time with your "Family" and also great to hear how much fun you're both having as well.

As to the Chocolate, "Enjoy."

Anyway you both TAKE CARE and hope to hear more great things from you soon. LOVE KELLY.

GOOD EVENING VICKI...

Quote From: vnoe07

OK....I'm still not got this thing figured out.  So if I miss anything or whatever, please forgive me....pretty please.

Is this supposed to be easier?? better?? Who is in charge here anyways???

I guess you can see I have lost my girls somewhere.  I'll have to search them out.

Things are going well on this side of the planet.  I'm heading again to the state fair with Ron and his kids.  Next year Ron wants to take my girls....oh my I can already picture that.  Things between us are still great, early but great.  The girls absolutely love him and his kids, brothers, sister, neices, nephews and the rest of them.    They are all very family orientated bunch, just like me and my family.  I do think they may just be closer because they lost both their parents not all that long ago and of course they all sort of work together.

As for my work situation.....well I've been applying at a multitude of places in this local vicinity.  Nothing as of yet.  I dunno if I emailed this part or not, but I did apply to be a city police officer in the city close to me.  I passed the mental test part, now all I got to do is pass the physical test....thats the part that worries me.  I have a month to train.  So wish me lots and lots and lots and lots of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kelly - thats great your Mum can be there still with you guys.  I bet she is having the time of her life.

Neecie - I bet you are having the time of your life right now.

JP-  So what have you been rubbing on your face lately???  Anything new????

Tap...where are you???

J - where are you???

Well you could have posted here, I may have just somehow not seen it cause this just sucks!  Oh well change is good......I guess!!!

Bye for now!!!

If I missed any of you.....just know that I am thinking of you!!!!

Hugs,

Vicki

xoxoxoxo

How's things with you and your girls? Sounds like you've had alot going on lately with Ron and applying for jobs like being a Police Officer, Good Luck with that one it could be a hard one the physical test but if you set your mind to it you just could do it, if you know what I mean!!

Well we took Mum to the airport yesterday to see her off, gee those two weeks went soooo fast. We had a great time having Mum here. As I said to her yesterday, it was nice just to have her to myself for the last week that she was here, as we were able to do things as Mother, daughter and granddaughter.  Cause the last few times that we were up at Mum and Dad's it was a very busy time and there wasn't really any time that just Mum and I could do things if you know what I mean by that!!

Mum did say that she wished that she had afew more days with us, oh well there will be other times that she can come and stay. And Mum also said that atleast this time that she was down her and Stephanie got to do some things together like playing games and having some time when it was just Stephanie and her Nanna together.

Well you all TAKE CARE and hope to hear from you again soon. LOVE KELLY.

GOOD EVENING FRIENDS....

How's things with you all? Hope you've all had a good weekend and you're all in good health right now.

We are doing fine here as per normal!! Mum went back home yesterday and I'm already missing her heaps. We had a great time while she was here and her and Stephanie got to do some things together like playing up at the Playground and sticking stickers in a scrapbook together and just doing other fun stuff as well.

After we had dropped Mum off at the Airport Mark, Stephanie and I went into the city for lunch and abit of a walk around the place. It was a lovely sunny day the weather was just right not hot but not cold!! It was a nice day and as we had to drive back through the city just about to go back home we thought it would be nice to just stop off in the city for a look around.

Well you all TAKE CARE and hope to hear from you all soon. LOVE KELLY.

PS, Are slowly getting the hang of things here on the new boards, how about you all, Are you getting use to the new boards yet?

DRIVING WHILE TALKING ON THE PHONE...

really makes me mad!! I live in Australia and here it is AGAINST the Law to talk on your phone while driving, but of course we still have the idots who do talk on their phones while driving.

My hubby and I have already nearly been involed in afew car accidents because of these idots on the road. And we have had one or two people honk their horns at us because they weren't watching what was happening BECAUSE THEY WERE ON THE PHONE and were not doing the right thing on the road.

I know that there are times when yes that phone rings while you are driving, BUT that doesn't mean that you HAVE to answer it there and then. You can always turn your phone off all together while driving and have it set on voice mail. Or if you HAVE to have your phone on then put over to the side of the road to answer your phone when it rings. Just think about other people that have to drive on the road at the same time as you.

One last thing, what drives me more MAD is when Mum's and or Dad's have children in the car and they are merryly driving long talking away on the phone. What's to say that one minute you're driving along and next you and or your children are dead from an accident. Just something to think about yeah!!

TAKE CARE ON THE ROADS, LOVE KELLY.
