I'm excited for this WLC to start!!

Hi to all the Challengers,

Looking forward to Wednesday to see the show.  I was there for the first taping, and wonder how things went.  I'm so glad that Dr. Phil is doing this again.  I lost 130 lbs during the first two Weight Loss Challenges.  His 7 keys are all that you need to be successful.  Robert will be a great help, so listen to what he has to say. I'll be cheering all six teams on and looking forward to seeing less of you on every show.  Enjoy every moment because it goes so quickly.  You have gotten a wonderful opportunity and I know you will all succeed.  I hope to see you all at another taping soon.

I'm so motived!!

I'm so glad that Dr. Phil is doing  a WLC. I loved looking forward to the shows and I lost 135 lbs with the two wlc shows.  After Staying Alive in 2005 , I had to deal with three deaths of people close to me.(my best girlfriend, my boss and my father-in-law) and many set backs on knees and feet and some other health issues. I thought I had overcome my emotional eating.  Not!!  I started putting others first again and not making myself # 1.  Here it is 3 1/2 years later and I've gained 80 % of it back!!  I can't believe that I allow this to happened. I've been gearing up to do this again and On Monday I started.  I weight  269. Huh!!!! Now is the time to put this behind me, for "This is the first day of a new beginning that will change my life."  I know the 7 keys work because I've done it.  Just want you to know that all you need is the book, and you can accomplish anything. I'm hoping to get some support from this site and I would love to email others  I figure I have 109lbs to lose and my goal is to be at 160 lbs.  You can email me pegmeg@sbceo.org. We can all do this and I look forward to reading all your posts.  I'm so sad as Dr. Phil Amazing Weigh Loss Race didn't come on.  They are behind one day because of Tennis!!!!!!  I will watch it tomorrow.

All for now

I'm so depressed.  I need help to get my eating under control.  I'm a success in every other area of my life and I get so demoralized by my inability to stay out of the fridge.  I have an extra 100 pounds to show for my poor choices.  I bought the book when it first came out but never really took the time to do all the steps faithfully.  I'm going to keep trying until I get it.  I'm 53, I work full time, I'm happily married and I just had a knee replacement about 3 months ago.  I'm a Mom to 2 beautiful men (and their amazing wives) and I have been blessed with 4 grandkids.  Any other struggling grannies out there?

I have two beautiful grandchildren.  I posted yesterday.  I'm 58 and I lost 130+ lbs three  and a half years ago and now I have to lose 100 lbs. again.  I've been married for 40 years to my best friend and I'm going to reitre in Dec!!!!  I would love to support you.  email pegmeg@sbceo.org

Looking forward to hearing from you

Hi, I can relate to you with losing 130 lbs.,almost 4 years ago. I thought I had mind set in the right direction but as the years have come and gone,I now realize I have some internal problems that need to be worked on,in order for me to be at an ideal weight and not let food be my enemy. I so need to lose at least 100 lbs.,but really would like to lose more then that. I need support from others that can relate to what its like to be heavy and how some people relate to you. I saw that when I lost the weight before. I have the books dr.phil talks about, but usual I can find other reasons not to read through them or to really get my mind set on what he is talking about. I sure could use the help of others and like a few others on here this message board am really new to this (to be honest I have never done this before and it took me so long to figure out how to get to this point. so i hope it works out for me and others to get some good support and gain a few freindships down the road.) good luck to everyone and I also am here to hear from anyone who needs a parnter in this new adventure. Debbie

Debbie,

Thanks for the message.  It's hard to be doing this again and it would be nice to have someone that's been there at least twice.  I'm so disappointed that I have to do this again.  I'm not going to dwell on this and like i said this is a new day.  things are happening.  Please email me pegmeg@sbceo.org

Just checking in!!!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone and tell you I have enjoyed ready all your posts.  We have a great group here and we can encourage each other.  I had a great day with all my meals and I did my bike for twenty minutes this morning.  I'm trying to get going on the treadmill but I have to do it slow because of some health issues with my feet.  I did the treadmill for 6 minutes today and it felt great.  something that helped me in the past, was Dr. Phil's book on CD.  I would put it in and walk and listen.  If you have an Ipod you can upload it.  I'm also keeping a diary on what I'm eating.  Another thought.  My cousin would always brush her teeth after dinner and then she wouldn't eat anything cause she didn't want to get her teeth dirty or brush them again.  All for now I need to go and watch the show. (I taped it)  I'm a day behind cuz of the tennis on Monday, darn!!!!! Looking forward to all your posts.

Hi Tanya

Quote From: sunshine4u

 Hi Everyone!

Do I really want to do this? Yes I do!  Can I do this? Yes I can!  My name is Tanya and I'm 60 years old.  I've been on yo-yo diets all my life with the exception of about 10 years when my weight was holding it's own.  However, during that time I was very active; chasing two little kids all day, doing chores, and etc which gave me plenty of exercise to work off the calories.  As years went by, sitting at a desk job didn't help.  Being in management, the stress can really have a negative impact on your routine.  By the time you get home from work, fix dinner, help kids with homework etc, you're so tired you just want to sit.  "There goes the calorie burning portion right out the window".  Year after year, you gain weight.  Had I corrected the situation early on, I wouldn't be where I am today.  Recently I experienced some heart fibulations which really scared me.  Now I'm taking 3 types of medicines to control it and also to prevent heart attack or stroke.  The good news is everything is under control, but now I must take one of these medicines the rest of my life.  Coumadine is a blood thinner and once you start this type of treatment there's no going without it for fear of blood clotting in the arteries.  Yesterday I watched Dr. Phil's show and a comment he made hit home.  "Within the next year you can lose 100 lbs.  You can either take charge of your life and make that change or you can stay unhealthy.  What's a year."  I'm taking charge now and with his and all of your support, I'm going to be one of those people who can stand up and proudly say, "I lost 107 lbs with the Dr. Phil Weight Lose Challenge!"  Good luck to all of you and may we all become healthier, happy people!

Tanya

We're about the same age!  I have 109 lbs to lose. I have a stressful job too and I can relate to coming home and just sitting.  We're tried. You can do this!  We are all going to be healthy and look good next year.  Have a great weekend.  Hopefully full of rest and exercise. I always feel so much better when I exercise.

I need positive things in my life right now.  I am going through a very stressful time in my life and have no control over it.  But I know I have control over my feelings and eating.  I just need some support to help me.

I am in Florida and even an e-mail buddy would help.  One who will encourage me, but not get upset if I make a mistake and slip up.  I am making major life changes and this goes right along with it.  I am 55 and need to lose a lot of weight.  At least 100 lbs. if not more, but I am also realistic that if I look at it like that I will fail.  I need to look at it as a lb at a time and set small goals to achieve the ultimate goal.

Is there anyone who is in the same boat and wants support, and is willing to return the support as well.

Thanks

I would love to have an email buddy. I'm 58 and I have 109 lbs to lose.  I live in CA.  You can email me at pegmeg@sbceo.org

I would love to be in your circle of support

Quote From: goldsam

Hey everyone...I am a 40 year old mom of three daughters who curently weighs 308.  I have been overweight my entire life and I am ready to start again.  I love when Dr. Phil says "do it once and get it over with" .  I thought I had won this battle 3 years ago after losing 131 pounds  using Dr. Phil's keys but I didn't commit myself fully to it and when my sister was diagnosed with cancer, instead of keeping going like I should have, I basically stopped my life to take care of her and her family, went back to my old habits and gained nearly every pound back..  I can hear Dr. Phil right now saying "stop making excuses" and I understand that.

..

The reality of this issue is that it is killing me and my daughters are following right in my footsteps.  There is a healthy, vibrant, fun loving woman inside of me and I want to find her and set her free.  I am really good at inspiring others but sometimes don't take my own advice. I am excited to join this message board because I don't really have a circle of support around me...so ready...set...let's go!

Hi Goldsam,

I can so relate about winning this weight lost battle three years ago.  I lost 130+ in 2005 and have gain most of it back.  Like you taking care of your sister, I lost my best girlfriend to cancer, along with the death of my boss and my father-in-law all within 10 months.  I focused all of my energy on taking care of my mother-in-law. I don't feel like you are making excuses as you have too know what when wrong and learn from that.  You sound like your a people pleaser like me and that does get in the way of taking care of ourself. I would love to hear from you and we can support each other.  My email is pegmeg@sbceo.org
