There are so many different types of pills out now, that you may want to consider changing. I remember that feeling(blah) and your right, even though you don't want to eat, you don't want to exercise either. I feel for ya! Cous cous is a grain. I don't believe that it is a type of rice. I don't know too much about it, except that it's a grain and I love it. My neighbor is a health freak and I'm a wanna bee. She made it and then I did.

Cous Cous salad

Follow the directions on the back of the cous cous box, but instead of water add no fat chicken broth.

You may have to ask someone in the store for help in finding it. It's at almost every grocery store.

To this I added steamed asaragus, cherry tomatos, fresh basil, small pieces of cucumber. You could also add some fresh chopped garlic. It's so fast and easy and also great left over.  You can change some or all the veggies I mentioned for others. I'm really big on making food that I can have as leftovers.

Here is a very basic tomato sauce that I make and freeze in containers the size of coolwhip containers. I use this sauce for everything from chicken parmesan(yes you can make that healthy) to pizza. I take 2 cans of Hunts tomato sauce, 2 small cans of tomato paste, 2 tsp. of dried italian spices and fresh chopped garlic. That's it! Now here's a recipe for pizza.

Pizza

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Take 1 ww pita and add sauce

Meat can be grilled chicken, or ground turkey, or whatever lean meat you like.

Veggies(I use mushroom, red onion and green pepper

Cheese- I use low fat marble cheese or soy mozzerella cheese.

Put in oven for 6 min. Out of this world good and really stops the pizza craving.

I will write more recipes later.

My daughter and I just finished the papers. It felt really great to be out there at 5am, but will I feel that way in the winter or when it's stormy out.

I know what I am going to have for breaky tomorrow, since I am not feeling sick right at this minute! lol I am going to have a boiled egg, with a slice of toast (carb options bread) and a cup of fruit and veggie juice (I drink the stuff too sheree!) and for lunch chicken breast with peas and carrots. bran muffin for mid am snack and yogurt and banana for pm snack. Supper- meatloaf, carrots and a potato. Sounds good to meeeeeee!!!!!

Tracy: I know what you mean about the salads ewww, I am tired of them too, I think we were eating salad till it was coming out of our ears!! lol, need a break from it I guess.

I was up early this morning making rasberry jam, then I made some strawberry freezer jam made with splenda, taste pretty good. (was licking the bowl!!)

I wanted to share some ideas for your coke and burger cravings. You could switch to diet coke and for your burgers, they now have ww buns out from Wonder bread. THere much smaller than those ginourmous ones they have out. You could switch to lean ground turkey burgers. Just make them up and bring them in your cooler. SOME veggie burgers are really quite good. Have you ever tried chicken dogs? They are way less fat than originial hotdogs. We tried them and my kids like them more. THey also have ww hotdog buns from wonder. You could also try just using 1/2 the bun.

There is a new mayo out that's half the fat from regular from Hellmans and I prefer it to no fat mayo, just read the label and you'll see why. The no fat is made with so much crap, but the real stuff is made with good stuff, only they use half the conola oil.

Everyone: Sorry for the double postings, but sometimes I click on post and nothing happens, so I don't know if it went through. Still learning the ropes off the new board. Bear with me,lol

Day 1 of RWL OVER and I made it!!!! Didn't have popcorn at the movie, ordered diet coke and they didn't even have it. So I got a bottle of water instead!! Also made a straberry /banana shake last night. One cup oc ff milk goes a LONG way in a shake and it took me forever to drink it. A yummy snack before bed. I think I will start trying to keep one dairy and a fruit as a evening snack on this plan for the next 2 weeks and see how that goes.

How is everyone else doing today?? Sherrilynn, you sound PUMPED. how did the walk(s) go?? I think I will drag my kids to the park today so I can get a walk in as well.

My day will look similair to yesterdays I think in terms of food. Nothing too fancy just the basic RWL Week 1 stuff LOL. I am going to try and get in some more water and exercise today.

My walk was great! We went biking for an hour, then we took our dog for a walk. This morning my 2 daughters and I went biking after I did papers with my oldest. I have a carrier for my 4 year old. She eats her cereal in there while mommy workouts. She says, "go mommy go".

I made a discovery this morning. We have a mouse in our shed. My gel seat was chewed and my butt needs every bit of that gel.

Yes, I am super pumped. I call it being in the "Sherri Zone". I get in this zone where nothing could make me cheat and I feel energetic and alive. I've had this feeling everytime I was successful at losing weight. You feel that your happy to be doing this, instead of miserable on another diet. Anytime I've started off miserable, I couldn't last more than a day. It's like I'm doing it because I actually really want to. It's a great feeling.

Cous Cous salad cont.

I forgot to mention that the cous cous salad I had, had chickpeas in them. My neighbor said that she used a can of organic chick peas. I'm not a cick pea fan, so I left that out.

For those of you that are sick of lettuce salads, you could try bean salads. There are lots of salads you can make without any lettuce. You could google salads and get a ton of recipes.

bloated!

The lady from the paper called and asked if my daughter and I could do more. We have stacks of flyers to deliver tonight when the temperature drops a bit, so I will get my exercise for sure. I'm doing great today. I have another simple recipe that I wanted to share. I love this one so much that I really have to watch my portion control.

I don't have a name, so we will call it:

Sherri's pasta crap

I mix different whole wheat pasta's in a large ziploc bag. Bowties, penne, macaroni, etc. Whatever you like.

Then I fry up some boneless skinless chicken breast in a little olive oil, dice it up.

I cook half a bag of frozen mixed veggies.

When the pasta is done, drain and add chicken and veggies.

Then I mix in some low fat tomato and basil dressing. You can use your choice of dressing. This is so good left over as well. It's also yummy cold or warm. Bon appetite!

If anyone is looking for a low fat dessert, just ask. I don't like to post them unless someone requests it because some people may be staying away from any dessert, low fat or not.

Having a hard time!

Why is it that we can feel so great all day, then from dinner on we have to fight the cravings. I am craving so badly right now. I already told myself that I will not give in, but it doesn't make those nasty cravings any more bearable. I've been doing lots of exercise today and eating right, but wham at dinner I thought,"this isn't what I want to eat". If I could have any super power, it would be mind control. Anyone else feeling this way today?

So I turned around and just came home instead, I feel good now!!!

I didn't do any exercise today :(

I call it the battle inside head. I managed not to cheat last night, but I do realize that I need a back up plan for when those cravings hit. I'm thinking of trying that new Special K cereal as my last snack of the evening. It's the one I saw in a commercial w/ vanilla and almonds. I think it's 100 calories. Have you ever tried vanilla soy milk in your cereal? It's awesome. I buy the so nice brand. I also use it to make a very healthy rice pudding. Would anyone like a rice pudding recipe. It's very low fat, no sugar. I use splenda. I'll post it if someone wants it. Here's my recipe of the day.

                              Sherri's orange cream sickle cake.

In a bowl mix 1 cup of orange sugar free jello powder and 1 cup of boiling water. Mix well, then add 1 1/2 cups of 95% fat free coolwhip. Set aside.

Line an 8 by 8 pan with low fat graham crackers.

Take 1 large or 2 small ripe mangoes and slice them up and put them on top of the crackers. Then pour on jello mixture and refridgerate for 3 hours or overnight. Also a great dessert for company or your b-day. It will satisfy you and you only have to feel guilty if you eat the whole pan,lol. I've done that before. This recipe is also awesome with strawberries and cherry jello.

We were up at 5am to do papers again and it was pouring out. At first I was miserable, but when I got home I felt really great!

Just to let you know, I use soy milk for anything I would use milk for. I buy vanillla soy and regular for dishes where I don't want the van. flavor. Have you tried it?
