Good Morning WOW's

Finally!!!! The new message board. Something new to challenge our minds for awhile. Just don't start eating out of control over this WOW's. It's good for us to learn new things. Keeps our minds active and alive. LOL!!!!

I got out early this morning to plant my new red daylilly and my Russian sage. I would love to just dig and plant all day, but know my back won't take all that bending. So, baby-steps to having a pretty spot just outside of my kitchen window. The growing field of corn is pretty, but need a few flowers.

DD and I loaded up the car yesterday with too big clothes and other stuff we didn't need to Goodwill yesterday. Took advantage of having two eager grans to help. Then we did shopping. I finally bought a new swimsuit. My size 16 is just to big. I tried on a 12. Still too big. Yes, I'm a 10! Haven't worn a 10 since 1970. I know I need to send picture. Soon!!!! Have a wonderful day, Gin

Good Afternoon

I'm hopeful that all the bugs on the new board will be worked out soon. Will remind all of us to not take to eating to vent our frustrations when things don't work as we would like.

It's hot and humid here in NW Ohio. Had T-storms roll thru this morning. I tried working in my flower bed this afternoon. Just too hot and the flies were biting. So I'm staying in and chillin'.

Glad to see Mary Anne and Peg back on the board. Welcome to the new Carol 1. And Dolly where are you??? I hear you chuckling as you read. LOL!!!!

After church this morning the men served a brunch. I had the scrambled eggs, sausage patty, and fruit cup of melons and grapes. They also had pancakes, biscuits & gravy and juices. One of the older ladies asked why I wasn't having the pancakes. Told her that I don't eat sugar, white flour. She wanted to know if I was diabetic. No, but if I didn't watch it, I could be. Told her that I have learned what I can and cannot eat. It's about making a choice that works for me.

I weighed last Thurs. Still at 155. Gin

Whew, finally got caught up!

I see you wonderful WOW's have been busy posting messages. I haven't been able to connect since Sunday. Decided to give it one last try this morning. I had made a post, but it must have went to cyberspace. LOL!!! Got kicked off the net, it was time to fix lunch for DH and grans. Yes, I fixed myself lunch of salad and grilled chicken strips.

Ice Cream? As Dr Phil would say, "How's that working for you?". I love it as much as anyone else, but I know I shouldn't eat it. The dairy alone is enough to cause suffering for me. The sugar is what kept me obese all these years. Yes, I had to change my thinking. Do I want to remain a slender feel good person or a miserable obese person? Being a 10/12 is exciting. I FEEL GREAT! Good Friday Morning WOW's

It's in the 70's this morning. A little humid, but that's ok the crops are thriving. The view out my kitchen/dining window has a back drop of growing corn. I did a little digging in another future flower bed. It's a little too damp, but trying to get the grass removed. I have an LP tank to camouflage. I haven't decided just what I will do.

My Breakfast: one sausage patty, 1 slice Eze. bread, and 1 C Indiana canalope. I buy a bag of frozen sausage patties. Nuke it on paper towel. My Plan for breakfast every morning is Protein (2-3oz. meat or 2 eggs), Eze bread, fruit. I have my 2 C Coffee. If I feel the need for more fiber, I add Fiber One to my fruit. For me to eat all carbs for breakfast, I find myself searching for something else.

Have a wonderful day. Don't put off doing IE. I'm going to Curves this afternoon. Gin

My Lunch

I had salmon fillet nuked with olive oil and garlic powder until just done. Then I built my salad while the rest of the food for DH and Grans cooked. My salad was romaine, iceberg lettuces, shred of carrot, red cabbagge, califlower, orange bell pepper, and strawberries sliced. Dressing was a drizzle of Honey Mustard from Wendy's. I use it sparingly, in 2.25 oz packet it has 280 cal. Took me 20+min to eat. So tummy knows it had food.

I'm off to enjoy the afternoon outside until time to go to Curves. Chicken is on the menu for dinner tonite. Gin

I Agree with Laineybea

It's all about changing our thinking about food. Being a yo-yo dieter, I know that what and how much I ate worked, UNTIL I decided to go back to the old way of eating that made me OBESE in the first place. Once I gained the weight back, I wondered why I couldn't keep the weight off. WELL DUH!!!! I went back to eating the high sugar foods, biscuits and gravy, chips and dip, fast foods, candy bars, & second helpings. Those first helpings were more like 2-3 servings. The bottom line? I wasn't willing to give up the past to stay in a slimmer/healthier world.

Cheat: A person who deceives or defrauds; swindler; also, a swindle. To practice fraud or trickery.  Is this the choice you really want to make with your life? Gin

It's Monday, and going to be a Hot One!

The temp is to be in the 90's today and for most of the week. Then it's to cool off over the weekend. My 2 oldest GS's are coming up for the weekend. Best part is my Great GD (2.5) is coming. I haven't seen her since Jan.

I'm still at Goal. I bounce 1-2 lbs, but as long as on Thurs. I'm at 155 is ok with me. I had my GD take a couple of pictures of me after church. I still have film left on the camera.

Last week I started digging an iris bed. I got it finished and planted. Have no clue as to what colors will be where. LOL!!! Have a crazy quilt patch of iris next spring. Gin

Camp Grandma Closed!

  • Summer? where did it go? Seems like yesterday that my youngest grandson arrived. This morning he left with his Mom for home in Ind. He was 10 lbs lighter and 1/2 inch taller. My only sadness is that he will go back to the same behavior that got him sent here for the summer.
  • Last Fri 3 grown children, 4 grans, DH and myself  went to a Water Park near Columbus. I surprised DH with my new bathing suit. WOW!!! was all he could say. LOL!!! We slid down the slides on our behinds and with floats. DH, DIL, and myself went down the Shark Slide in a 3 person float. It was a good thrill ride, until....we did a wipe out when we hit the water. LOL!! WE are still laughing. This was the first year DH & I went with the family. I felt that I was too old to go, too fat, you name the excuse.
  • Thanks to my GS's parents, I have a new fall wardrobe. Yes, it's more orange. LOL!!! Med. tops and 12 pants. I picked out 3 outfits that all mix with each other. Even have new makeup that goes with the new outfits. Bought my first pr. of dangling errings. Well of course, they are orange.
  • It was nice to have family here for the weekend, but I wouldn't want to do it very often. I would be obese again. Scales weren't as bad as I had thought. 158.5, +3.5 lbs above goal. Won't be there long as it's back to HR eating at regular times. I had went to Curves early Fri morning, plus all the IE at the waterpark. Climbing the stairs just to get to top of slides is IE. I plan to go to Curves this afternoon and hopefully 3-4 more times this week.

Back Down to Goal!

I've dropped 3 lbs since Monday. Just because family was here last weekend, isn't an excuse to continue to party. Hind-sight is always 20/20, I could have made better food choices. The youngest son brought up a Heavenly ham from N. Indy. It is yummy, but not an everyday food choice. I should have had the sirloin steak instead of the fried walleye at dinner on Fri. The steak was much better. At the movie on Sat afternoon, I passed on the popcorn and pop. I had a bottle of water. Who can pass up fresh corn on the cob? One ear was enough, but not two. Corn is one of my not to eat foods. When I went shopping for the new fall wardrobe, I knew I had too many carbs. Yup, lays right on the tummy! My size 12 pants aren't stretch material. My food choices and IE are back on schedule.  I will get weighed and measured at Curves (4th visit this week) before I workout tomorrow morning. If I chose the foods that I know will cause me to gain, I MUST go above the minium of IE until my weight is where it NEEDS to be! Some very insightful posts. As I went thru the book, each time I learned more about my inner self. Stuff will always be with me, but I don't have to use food to cope. Diane, Hope you get things figured out soon. I understand how fustrating it is not to be able to make the internet connection. I had this post ready Wed morning. Got knocked off and just today was I able to get connected. I had started my post on notepad and was able to save it to a floppy.  Gin~~155.5

My Curves Stats

  • I went to Curves this morning to get weighed and measured. I also did my 4th workout for the week. Here are the Stats!
  • Total inches lost since 3/9/05 is 9.25
  • Total pounds lost is 12. Weighed 170 then, now 158. My naked weight this morning was 155.5.
  • Body fat was 40.20% now 37.20% for a 3.00% drop. Total body fat pounds 9.56.
  • My problem area is still my mid-section. Dropped an 1" in waist, 3" in abdomen, .25" in hips. I do have a wide pelvic, so don't hope for much improvement. Lost 3.50" in thigh. Lost an 1" in my upper arm. Don't need to lose in the bust! I'm hanging onto that 37"! LOL!!!
  • I bought a new sexy nitey. DH said he can't find me in my old one. LOL!!! He tells everyone that I have done an excellant job. Just gives me goose bumps!!!!
  • I now ask myself, "WHY?" did I piddle around about going to Curves and losing the weight faster? I FEEL GREAT!!!!!! Do I still have issues from my past? YES! Do I still have stress? Yes! When I started managing my health (weight) better, things around me fell into place.  Gin
