One of today's guests (the father) made a statement regarding the "normalcy" of baggy pants in our current society. Just because it's normal to see someone with their rear ends hanging out, doesn't mean it should be acceptable. Let me give you an example... Before the civil rights movement, it was "NORMAL" for blacks to be banned from colleges, public transportation and other normal areas. Was it right?? NO, NO, NO... Why should this be "right"? I don't necessarily believe our government (local or otherwise) has the right to tell us how to dress, it's just public decency to cover up those areas of our bodies considered private, including our undergarments. Baggy pants are fine, as long as the waist of the pants, shorts, etc. are actually at one's waist. At the same time, I find it undesireable and disrespectful to see women with their pants, shorts, etc waaaayy below their hips and tops waayyy above their midriff. For the artists (Rap, Rock, Country, Jazz, Gospel, Pop, ANY AND ALL GENRES) to believe they have no influence on our youth, think again. You can have (and be proud of) as much POSITIVE INFLUENCE as negative influence. Will you deny the positive influence, just as you deny the negative?
