Welcome

Hello everyone.

Just wanted to post what I ate today, for lunch I had a bowl of oatmeal, and egg and a slice of carb options bread, I just felt like eating more breaky at lunch! lol. even though I had bran flakes and a banana for breaky. For snack, well I had a little treat and for supper I had a chicken ceasar salad. My cold has disappeared, don't know where it went but I am glad it's gone, cause I really didn't feel like exercising these past few days but I will start back up tomorrow and I will probably pay for it too. Meaning since I didn't exercise, I probably will gain or won't lose....oh welll...ahhhhhh...I'm not too worried! lol

Welcome Teri, you will find alot of support here, I started on January 8 at 219 lbs and I am now at 159.5 (I hope!)and I feel great! And you will too once you start shedding some pounds.

I don't see anything wrong with eating dark chocolate once in awhile, I wouldn't eat it everyday, I don't even care to eat it once a week usually just when we have those chocolate cravings, that's when I will think about the dark chocolate! LOL

Goodnight!

Had a good day so far

Good Evening!

B: branflakes, banana

S: orange

L: chicken soup, WW toast & peanut butter, 2 oatmeal cookies (bad)

S: yogurt, banana

S: don't know yet

Debbie, I didn't even know you were gone somewhere, I was wondering where you were, well now I know, glad you had a nice trip, you and sheree, one of these days I will go somewhere too, one of these days! lol

Tracy- I know some people like to get up early to exercise, but I read that it is better to workout in the evening, because your body is more awake or something, but that's my opinion, I jump on my treadmill anytime of the day, if I have time in the morning I go on in the morning, if I have time in the evening, then I go on in the evening, I just make sure I go on at least 3 times a week and up to 7 times a week, depending on time I guess and between 20-30 minutes each time.

Sherri- You might hate me for this but I think you should go out and eat something that you really enjoy and not deprive yourself so much, I know what your going through but I've learned never to deprive myself again. again, that's my opinion.

Lilly- Way to go! 5 lbs is awesome, keep it up! bet you shocked yourself huh!

Angela- I am glad you are back on the happy train! I know these very last pounds are hard to lose, but they will come off eventually. And now your back, you'll be shedding them like nothing.

OK THEN

Bite me.....Sorry there Sherri just wanted to get you talking again, jk. Chill outttttttt!!!! no seriously sorry if I upset you. I am a happy person with a good sense of humour and I like to joke around alot. If you got to know me in person then you would see what I mean.

Anyways, you said you didn't want to eat, but you felt like you wanted comfort food, and that's why I said that. As for the cookies, I didn't enjoy them, I don't even know why I ate them, well I ate them cause they were just there that's why I ate them. And that is one of the weak spots that I am working on. Food is there and I feel like I have to eat it.....hmmmm especially the sweet stuff.

Supper I had a salad with salmon and low cal dressing.

I had plenty of water today and now I am going to go and jump on my treadmill to go and relieve all this stress! lol jk

And oh ya Lauren, good for you on passing up the oreos, I try not to have things like that in the house too, but if I happen to get something, I tell the kids to hurry up and eat them or I take off somewhere for awhile!! LOL

I feel alright!

Hello, Good Evening.

I did it and it feels good! I went on my treadmill for 30 min. feels good after a few days of not being on it. Because I was sick and felt bummed out. But back to it again. I even did 20 min. of strength training.

I think I need to do more strength training now that I am getting closer to my goal, I want to get more toned and see a little more muscle. I think I WILL, I will commit to 20 min. of strength training 2-3 times a week for now anyway. (instead of once aweek) And I will find the time. There that is my commitment to myself.

I already have my menu all planned out for tomorrow, so I don't have to run in to that situation where I don't know what to eat. Do you gals still plan your meals? I usually don't anymore, but it sure makes it easier when you do eh!

exercise

Geez I just wrote up a nice post and then it disappeared....grrrrrr...

Now I have to try to remember what I wrote.

Holy Man Melody that's awesome, you make my little 30 minute workout feel like peanuts! lol

I can't do that much exercise but I am glad you can, you'll be in shape in no time! and I am glad that some of you gals like to workout in the morning, I know it feels good, I just did 30 minutes on my treadmill and I feel fabulous, wish I can do it everyday, but usually when I work days I workout in the evening and when I work evenings I squeeze it in sometime during the day, whenever I can, as long as I get it in there I am happy.

I already saoked 6 glasses of water into me today and usually at work I go through another 4.

I have my meals planned out for today since I am going to be very busy today and for the next few days.

B: branflakes with a sprinkle of 100% bran cereal, skim milk and banana

L: salad, low cal dressing, chilli

S: strawberry, banana smoothie

S: pork chop, green and yellow string beans and caroots

Does anyone have any good smoothie recipes to post?

And does anyone know about the step counters? I read that 10,000 or more steps a day is sufficient, a couple of girls wore them at work one day and they counted almost 11,000 steps each. So that means if I started work this past mon till sun, I would have more than 70,000 steps....whew...that's so cool.

Have a good day everyone!

Exercise

Your right Tracy- There's no time like anytime, I feel the same way, as long as I get my exercise done sometime during the day or eve, then that's good enough for me. It all counts.

I found it, the Kashi go lean crunch cereal, I will get some tomorrow or Sat. and try it out.

Well I better get back to business.

Since we are still on the topic

I thought the topic was over and this is not to nit pick on anyone, as I was just responding to Tracys post earlier. But I looked up on the net and this is what I found and I am sure there are a million other things out there.

Now lets get it over and done with and forget about it and move on cause it just doesnt matter anymore!!!

The best time to exercise varies. However, according to research, 5-6pm is supposed to be the best time for most people to exercise and work out.

This is because muscle and body-core temperature is at it's highest and endurance levels are at their peak.

If this exercise-time is inconvenient, choose your own work-out time. The point is, whether you want to lose weight or just stay healthy, exercise is vital. So do it whenever you can.

It is important to do an exercise that you enjoy and at a time when it is most enjoyable to you. This provides for fun and consistency. If a person is exercising at a time of day that is not good for them and doing what they dont like, they most likely will not continue and stop such a healthy habit. The best time to exercise is purely a personal decision. You exercise at a time when it is easily fit in to your schedule. This helps you to exercise consistently and on a regularly scheduled basis.

The very best time to exercise? Workouts can only do you good if you do them. The best time to exercise is the time that will fit best into your schedule so you can do it consistently. Experts agree - it is not the time of day that matters as much as finding the time you can set aside consistently for your workouts

Some research suggests that people who work out in the morning are more likely to stick with their exercise program, but this may be because they get it "out of the way" first thing and are thus less likely to skip an evening workout due to fatigue or a busy schedule. In addition, you may choose to exercise in the morning if you live in an area where smog, heat, or other environmental factors can spoil your (outdoor) workout because the air is coolest and clearest at that time.

But no studies have shown that you get a better, more efficient workout if you exercise in the morning. The best time is really a matter of individual choice, and what works for your roommate may be entirely different from what works for you.

Working out in the a.m., for instance, isn't better than working out at night if you find it tough to roll out of bed at that hour -- or if you feel so stiff in the morning that exercise seems like a horrible chore you'd be all too glad to skip. Similarly, if you find yourself much more energetic at dusk than at dawn, p.m. exercise may be best for you.

You may find that an evening workout offers other benefits. Although conventional wisdom has it that late-night workouts can make it harder to fall asleep, there's actually no evidence to support that notion. In fact, exercising at night can help allay anxiety, allowing people who are normally kept awake by stress to get a better night's sleep.

But hands down, the best time for you to exercise is when you'll be most likely to do it and do it regularly. So decide what's convenient for you and when you most enjoy a workout. Make it a top priority --whatever time of day you choose to do it.
