Potty Training

Quote From: kolson01

I am a parent of twins like I state in the profile. I have a boy and a girl. I have recently decided to have a after school and day care in my home. My biggest stress with my twins is my son will go in his training pants and then take it off and hand it to me. Sometimes I catch him when he starts pulling them down and rush him over so he can try going potty but he has little intrest. So what do I do? What is Dr. Phils method? My daughter is not showing much interest but she is always is interested in trying.
I believe that Dr. Phil suggest you get your child a doll that goes potty. Have him train the doll to go in the potty and throw a "potty party" when the doll goes. Then after a while your son will want that attention and he will start going in the potty.

With that being said, it is a great idea.. if you actually can get it to work. I tried this with my daughter and she thought it was so funny when the doll would go potty, she just wanted to hear/see the baby go. It did not work for us, but that is not saying it would not work for someone else.

Good luck.. I know how frustrating potty training can be! :-)

Recent attacks at schools

I have a 6 year old in the first grade and next year I will be enrolling my daughter in Kindergarten. When I turn on the news and hear about shooting at schools it does scare me. I fear for my children's safety every moment I am not with them. Its crazy to think that the place I send my child to learn, the place that he is supposed to be safe for  8 hours a day is the one place that I end up fearing the most! You don't know that some student is not going to show up and be mad at a teacher for giving them a failing grade, or mad that his girlfriend dumped him.. or what ever reason they think is logical. My heart goes out to the families effected by the recent shooting in PA.

My son is grossed out by the idea

I am 2 weeks into potty training my 2 year old son, and he is doing awesome. He is staying dry all day and night and at nap times too. He lets me know when he has to go pee, so outtings are not a nightmare anymore, but I can't get him to poop on the potty. He has gone a little bit, but he always says "eww gross" or "eww yuck" and refuses to sit there any longer. I have tried flushing after he goes a little bit, but he still does not want to poop in the potty. I know its only been 2 weeks and I should count my blessing that pee training was as easy as it was. I just don't want him to hold it and not go at all.. Any advice?
