SHARON:It always seems easier to eat the things we shouldn't without being seen.  Jelly beans and chocolate don't crunch loudly, and carrots and apples do. Pretty hard to sneak them around the boss. 

  

VICKIE: It is nice to see you back and feeling somewhat better.  

  

CHILLY:  What a great PEP talk you gave to everyone.  Just what we are all in need of.  If that doesn't work, give us a swift kick in the butt. 

  

ALICE:  WAY TO GO GIRL!!! In the 150's now. I am so proud of you.  I dream of that day.  You are such an inspiration to us all.  I admire how hard you have worked at it and I love the payoff you got.  Thanks for showing us that it is not just all about food, but that the IE is very important too.  That is my big downfall. Because my knees and hips hurt so much, I tend not to do much in the way of IE. I know that is a poor excuse as there are other exercises I could do that will not impact the hips and knees. 

  

SHIRLEY & KAREN: I can see you gals getting more and more serious as the days go by and I just know one of these days it is going to click for you.  Like Chilly said-just work on a 10 lb sack of spuds or a 5 lb bag of sugar.  I am going to work on 5 lbs of butter. 

  

REEN: Thinking of you and your daughter today.  Hope each day is seeing improvement.  You and your family are in my prayers.  Did you get the school shopping done today?  How old are the girls?

Hi Carol.  Welcome back, even though it is not with good news.  I tried to reply to your message last night, but for some reason I could not post the message. First time that has happened to me, though I think others have had the same problem from time to time. 

  

Sorry to hear that you are not a candidate for the knee surgery and know that you are going to feel quite down about this. I also know what a strong person you are and that you are going to come out smiling and accepting it and then you will just get on with your life.  You are one terrific lady whether you are standing, in a wheel chair or even if you were lying down.  It would make no difference to us your friends. We will be friends and be here for you all the way.  I have always admired you Carol, for you do far more from your wheelchair than a lot of us do who are running around and getting next to nothing done.  You have done things I would never have attempted to do......making your patio out of patio blocks is one very good example. 

  

Sorry your mother is not doing so well, but glad that she is not in pain.  My mother is gradually deteriorating. She had a fall in December and broke her pelvic bone.  Recovered from that and was walking again but had another fall a few Weeks ago. Did not break any bones this time but found it very traumatic.  When this happens she goes into a real funk where her memory goes all wonky and she doesn't make any sense when she tries to talk. Some days wouldn't know us or could not remember that we had been in to see her the day before.  She has pulled out of that now, but is having a lot of back pain. Her back is riddled with compression fractures from the osteoporosis.  She is not enjoying life very much now. I am going to ask the Dr if he can't give her something more for the pain.  So far they just have her on Tylenol. 

  

Is your daughter still living with you or did she find a house to move to?  Your G/S must be growing too.

It seems like rhyming is really catching on.  So now I am going to give it a try. 

  

My weight has become attached to me 

That is not the way I want it to be. 

  

So a healthier lifestyle I will choose 

And shake those little suckers loose. 

  

They tell me that I must do IE 

Up til now, that has not been me. 

  

Tomorrow out comes my pedometer 

And I will walk from here to there. 

  

Next Monday I will step on the scale 

And tell those suckers to go to HE__!! 

  

  

That has probably been my first and last attempt, but I just had to give it a try. 

  

REEN: Glad to hear Machin is back home again and hopefully the infection will clear up faster there than in the hospital.  I hope the granddaughters are helping you out at home. How old are they?

Carol: So sorry to hear that your mother is now in hospital. Hopefully here they can keep her compfortable and pain free. Thoughts and prayers are winging their way to you from BC, Canada. 

  

Lee: Congratulations on the upcoming wedding in November.   Glad you found your way back on to the board too. 

  

Karen: Christmas challenge. When I went on the challenge last year at Christmas time, that is about when it all began to fall apart for me.....lol. Maybe if I do another challenge, it will turn it around again for me and I will start to see some results.  To start with I will challenge myself to quit having evening snacks.  This has become a way of life again and it has to stop......so it shall. Every week or so I will add to the challenge.   

  

Vickie: Glad to hear that hubby got you the patch.  You are sounding so much more chipper these days. 

  

Reen: How is Machin doing now that she is home?  And how is REEN doing now that Machin is home? I hope you are taking time just for Reen too.  Thinking of you girlfriend.

Just a communal hello to everyone.  It was a bit cooler here today....rather nice for a change.  This is my kind of weather. 

  

SHARON: Yep, Im with Karen on this one.  I'd rush out and get hubby a good set of headphones and tell him it was an addition to his birthday present....LOL 

  

KAREN: I too have already started the challenge.  I cut all evening snacks off as of last night.  I am going to be right there beside you tomorrow my friend.....so don't roll over on me....LOL.  I think that room is going to get pretty crowded with all your WLC friends in there. 

  

REEN: Down 3.5 lbs. Way to go.  Hope everything settles down for you and everyone else.  It will be good for everyone when they can all get back to their own home. 

  

ROSE: Nice to see you popping in again Rose. 

  

VICKIE: I wouldn't be surprised if your daughter re-evaluates the situation and decides that she would rather move back home than to share a place with the other girl.

RAVEN is having a problem getting back on the boards yet and I am trying to help her.  I have explained to her about deleting the Cookes and Files. Other than that I probably have not been a whole lot of help as I personally did not have a problem getting back on board.  I know that the Dr. Phil Website sent out a LINK to everyone to help them get back on.  Has anybody still got that email and that link.  If so, I would greatly apperciate it if you would email it to me and I will then forward it on to RAVEN.   She is really missing everyone and would like to be able to get back on board. 

  

I had an email from KAREN and she said the surgery went well, but she is tired and resting now. 

  

VICKIE: Way to go girl.....wallking  and going to the pool.....WHAT NEXT!!!!.  Proud of you girl.

You finally made it back here.  We have all been watching for you and wondering when it would happen. Look how your persistance paid off. Now if you are that persistant with the WLC, just think what the payoff will be.  We are all here for you.
