Thanks Dr. Phil--you really help

Howdy Dr. Phil,

I just wanted to say that you are really helping me and I am so glad I finally started REALLY LISTENING to what you are saying.  I have used all your shows and all your guests to figure things out about my behavior and misconduct.  It seemed like I could relate to all of your guests on all over your shows,,,in different ways.  I would use all the information you would share with each guest and digest it as if you were saying it to me.  Even this OCD show i can learn from.

I just checked out your book Life Strategies at the library b/c I realize that I really can change my "patterns of behavior" to really improve myself and the lives around me.  I am a LONG WAY off,,,but the insight you have given me through your simple explanations,,,will and can change my life.  I think i was already on to your way of thinking, but i could never get my mind wrapped around it.

Thank you for being on tv.

I appreciate it.

RG

p.s.---what do you think about the fact that VIACOM is the #1 contributor to pornography?  Does Viacom still own CBS and how do you justify being apart of a company that exploits women and allows girls to be recruited to the porn industr???  (I am referring to the Diane Sawyer newscast I saw recently about Viacom and CBS).

Thanks DR PHIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time for the Churches to Step up Again. like Katrina

The churches need to step up to the plate and provide homes for these abandoned women and children in Utah.  It was amazing to see the response of the church to the victims of Katrina.  The people of the churchs of America need to open up their buildings and homes and provide safe places of refuge for these lost people.  Dr. Phil...how can you get this process started???  The real church of God needs to take these people in PERIOD.  Don't count on any government to do what is best for the people.

Planned Parenthood Secret Agenda

Dr Phil,

I am so surprised that you would refer to "planned parenthood" for a nationwide study.  Their studies are biased based on the fact that they make their money from abortions and STD's.  I don't think you did your research to use Planned Parenthood as a reliable source to quote what is happening in America.  PP wants to do anything to PROMOTE SEX with our kids today b/c that is how they make their money.  From std's to abortion,,,they ask leading questions in their surveys to SUPPORT their causes.  Planned Parenthood does NOT have anyone's child's best interest at heart, so next time you want to quote stats, please don't use a source that's number one souce of revenue is aborting teenagers babies.  Thats sick and disgusting.  Shame on you Dr. Phil for acting like they are some kind of "worthy group" with straight facts.  They twist the facts for their own agenda.  PERIOD.

research

Quote From: jhissong

I cannot believe you (Dr Phil) summarize abstinence  based programs as programs that "teach that having sex is a moral failure".  Have you ever reviewed the curriculum for a good abstinence based program?  Obviously not.  If the morality of the situation is even mentioned it's very minimal unless it's taught within a private christian school.  You can talk for days about the emotional, physical and financial consequences of sexual behavior outside of marriage without ever even coming close to morality.  Also,  as bad as teen pregnancy is, it's not generally fatal.  However, contracting one of the sexually transmitted diseases that are not prevented by condom use very well could be.  My daughter had a sexual encounter and now has HPV, the leading cause of cervical cancer, which condoms provide absolutely no protection against.  I would rather be helping her raise her child now than helping her die from cervical cancer in 20 years.
I agree.  I don't think Dr. Phil did his research.  Quoting "Planned Parenthood" as his # 1 source for the stats is sick and disgusting.  They make their money from aborting babies and treating STD's.  No studies they do would ever support the need to teach Abstinance...that would put them out of business.

Breastfeeding OK...not a mom

Hello, I am not a mother and I would like to say that I think Breast Feeding is Great.  More moms should do it.  It is natural and the way it was intended to be.  More children today seem to have so many "imbalances"...I would like to see a study done on kids who were breastfed verses kids who were not breastfed.  I would almost bet money that the moms who don't breast feed are the moms putting their kids on all kinds of drugs for ADD,,,etc.

I have only encountered a few people breast feeding in public, and when I realize that they are breast feeding,,,I just gave them some space and let nature take its course.

Telling Kids what to do???

Recently I was at a church service and noticed some kids playing video games.  I thought that was incredibly rude and could not believe their parents would allow their kids to play an electronic video game at church.  The paren'ts were not even paying attention and I simply said to the kids " You really shouldn't be playing video games at church"...and they stopped and seemed to be embarrassed.  Was I wrong for saying anything?  I didn't know at the time and I still don't know, but what is wrong with parents today that they would allow their kids to play video games at church?  Just curious your opinions.  RG

Fighting in Iraq when we could be saving LIVES

Dr. Phil,

How in the heck do we justify our war in Iraq when it is known that MILLIONS of people have been taken against their will to live a life of prostitution?  Why can't American Soldiers bust into these heavily guarded "Brothels" and free these women who are being used as sex slaves?  We are losing more and more soldiers everyday in Iraq for a war that should be over.  What is wrong with our government and governments around the world when this is a "known" problem, yet you have to send in a small handful of people to stake out these whore houses?  Where is our military and why aren't we fighting for people who really are living in complete terror???

Can;t you get George Bush in on this???

YOU ARE 100% CORRECT

Quote From: vlilly

Apparently your guests have not heard of abstinance.
Even if the girl did lie, he took a risk by having sex
prior to choosing his own soul mate. Take some
responsibility for your part in the matter.

Hi V.

Just wanted to say I agree with you.  I am 33 years old and am abstaining from sex.  If that guy didn't want a baby then why was he having sex to begin with? Even if she was on birth control that is not 100% full proof.  He can't sit here now,,3 years later,,,still feeling like he is a victim b/c the woman he was having sex with got pregnant.  People get pregnant on birth control...so he had the risk of getting her pregnant anyway.  Dr. Phil COMPLETELY missed the point that the guy could have been avoiding sex to begin with,,,especially with a girl he was already having second thoughts about,

quit blamin the ex

Quote From: redmeg2005

I take his side too.  You are putting words in his mouth by saying that by asking her if she's on the pill means he's saying he doesn't love her and won't stick by her.  It simply means he's not ready to be a father.  If she said yes she was on the pill, that told him she was using backup and he didn't have to.

My husband's previous wife said she was on the pill and they ended up having two children.  Years after they were divorced and we were married she came clean and said he tricked him and quit taking the pill both times to get pregnant because she knew they were falling apart and she thought it would make him stay.  And now he doesn't get to have a relationship with them at all.

I know he loves me but I feel like I'm paying for what she did to him.  I don't have any children but I want a family greatly.  I was on the pill when we first got together but because of migraines I quit taking it.  He knows that, but doesn't want to use protection on his part.  But he's not ready to have a baby with me.  He says down the road sometime, but he doesn't want the responsibility right now.  He says that if it happens, it happens, but he doesn't want to try like I do.  I've been off the pill since 2002, no protection at all, and I haven't gotten pregnant.  When I want to seek medical help, he's not ready.  He didn't get to choose when he wanted to start a family with his first wife, so he wants to be able to choose this time.  I believe deep down he'll never be ready.  Because of her.  Yes, he participated in it, but the wife he loved reassured him that she was on the pill.  She tricked him!

Hey,

I am sure you love your husband, but you blaming his ex for not wanting to have children is a big mistake.  Get over your resentment towards HIS EX...He obviously does not want to have children b/c he keeps telling you the same thing he told his first wife.  Why do you ladies marry these controlling men???

In my HUMBLE opnion,,,real men want to have children.
