Hello there ! Sherri Shirley & Latemorn.  After not posting for a while,and just reading what People do, It came to me that I was missing out on a lot of Support. I need to get started again. 

I have been down in the dumps for too long, it's time to pull myself up again. 

I know this is a different Board, and i'm hoping to regain some of your support.

Thank you for the welcome Sherri! I was hoping you'd remember me. 

To introduce myself, I am a grandmother with 5 Grandchildren.3 Sons,1 still at home. 

we live in Caledon Ont. thats northwest of Toronto. 

My problem is that I also have to lose weight.---230 goal 150 lb 

I'm off to a good start..Dr Phil has shown me the way. I've got the books, read them all. 

now what I need is to be accountable and maybe posting here will help me do that. 

I saw that someone is trying to find some sort of sweetener 

I have been using STEVIA a very natural plant get it at zehrs or any health food store. 

It's more costly but good . I have not baked with it so I can't say how it might work.

Just wanted to say ,my husband is also a borderline diabetic. 

he is fanatic about what he puts passed his lips, He used to get tingly hands 

that scared him enough to be extra careful . 

He also keeps himself very busy, after eating he goes out into the yard to pile the wood 

for the fireplace, or wash the cars he puts me to shame with all that he does. 

But the upshot of all the IE is that his levels are fairly normal. 

You talk about oatmeal.I get the old fashioned ones we have these every morning, 

i have mine with blueberries and low fat yogurt. that's agood start to the day. 

I myself am having problems with my kidneys, stones are painful. 

Now I'll have to get on my treadmill to get me energized.

Boy this board is busy

I was away a couple of days and look at all those posts. 

It's hard to keep up with everyone . 

Sheri I tried your apple and blueberry crisp tonight it was delicious. 

I've been so consumed with dieting, that I forgot to have a dessert and this one sure hit the spot. 

My meal was served on a small plate tonight , and the dessert was a whole ice cream dish  

without the ice cream of course. 

It sound like there are a good number of people on this board who really are committed.  

that's fantastic. If I could type faster I wouldn't have to worry about getting kicked into cyberspace

That's 80 lb I need to shed , so I'm going to be here for the long haul. 

But I'm going 10 lb at a time so it wont seem quite as bad, I'll only have to do it 8 times lol. 

When I get there I might want 10 more. we'll see. 

On Monday I will see a new Dr. the old one left us .I have been having problems with my Kidneys ,I was retaining water no matter what I did was of any help till I went to natural  remedies. 

now I'm at last seeing a change for the better. no you are not out of line Sylvia thanks for caring. 

Sherri, yes you said it loud and clear, I'm glad that you did thanks. 

During our hot summer you turned me on to smoothies,I have tried all kinds of fruit never a disappointment, how do you get the time to already be finished xmas shopping?

  I have been seeing a'' Reflexoligist '' for Contact reflex analysis. 

She has done wonders for me. It's pricey yes , but I'm thinking it's my health,and I want to live for a long time yet. So whatever I take for my system may not be what you need. 

On Tuesday I will see my new  Doctor for a Physical,and then I will see whether the analisys and the money I have spent  will have done me good. 

But Chamomile Tea is a good Diuretic. So is a herb called Horsetail. 

That's the stuff that grows redly on fields or in a country garden and looks like the Tuffs of white pine trees also good are burning nettles,all can be found at a good health store  

So that's my wisdom on the subject. 

Seeing that we are looking to lose the same amount  I wish us both good luck  XXX Tilly XXX

Goals

Goals-no particular order 

  1. To keep doing the papers even though it's winter now and somedays I want to quit. It's great exercise and I need to keep going.
  2. To be happy with myself from the inside out, no matter how much I weigh.
  3. To STOP eating in the evenings. I did great last night, but I struggle with this one on a daily basis
  4. To stop being so obsessed with food that I'm thinking about it all the time. "To eat to live, not live to eat"
  5. To never again go on someone elses diet. To eat healthy and exercise and not obsess about any of it. To do all of it in moderation. I just really want to keep up what I am already doing, but tweak it a bit.

  Sherri, About those goals! You sure look like you reached yours.  

Gosh I remember when I was that slim, After all the different diets I tried,I found one that workes, 

it does not stress me out it lets me eat when I want and what I want. 

There is a saying in german ...E>O>H.--eat only half. 

that sounds good to me,So I will eat my Meals off  a small plate. 

Goals  

              Stick with my IE everyday no excuses. 

              Share my Time with my Family and FRIENDS

Weigh in

Hi everyone   Been very busy today,Took some stuff to the dump,my DH helped me finally ,to get rid of unwanted Clutter.That feels good ,now i can get out the Xmas clutter , as he calls it , but I forgive him, decorating for the holiday means more to me than him. 

I was nicely surprised this morning when I got on the scale,I'm down 1lb so I'm pleased with myself. 

Since I'm in this cleaning mood ,I'll go to it .but I'll check in again later XXX Tilly XXXX

Hello everyone!

Thank you all for the encouraging words. 

I's only 1 lb . But hey its the one that's happy to hang around  

It's the one- in that cute poem someone posted.I'm going to try and save that one to my computer if I can, It might just be the pick up one day when I really need it . 

I went to the Dr. today I am completely free of any Meds. He said when I get my results from the Blood work I'll probably be a brand new healthy person . Can it get any better than that? 

 No more Prozac water pills lipitor blood pressure pills.Nothing Nada.I'felt good yesterday . 

But today is the first day of my new Healthy Life. I do hope though that any results to come wont bring me down.    OXOX Tilly OXOX
