    Did he quit smoking?

Phillip, the guest on today's show, about denial of health issues, says he is doing great - he's taking vitamins and supplements, eating better, and getting exercise. Dr. Diaz said the number one thing he needed to do was quit smoking. Did he? It wasn't mentioned.

I was wondering the same thing. The nurse indicated she did, but he didn't. Surprised Dr. Phil didn't address it.

Has anyone done any of the testing? The web site has a mention of www.genovations.com. These are tests that need to be purchased by a health care provider. Does anyone have any info on this?

(I also noticed the guy didn't mention the smoking... must still be working on that one.)

I thought the show was great! The company I work with has been testing people for six months. Isn't it wonderful that we baby boomers can find things for better health than our parents??!!

We all need to take care of ourselves and not be in denial. I have high blood pressure and smoked some. Quite cold turkey.
I feel much better. Also I have allergic Asthma and live where there is lots of smoke. Just do what my Dr. says and take precautions and live my life.

14 vitamins in the morning won' keep Phillip alive if he is still smoking....smoking was he number 1 comment by the doctor but apparently he isn't willing to quit smoking. The fact that Dr Phil did not address that made him look stupid
Dr Phil is too smart for that

Actually, Dr. Phil did ask that question and the answer was yes, I did quit smoking. That part of the show must have been edited out. Sorry!

Suzanne, I quit smoking and lost weight, but I understand about addiction. I also undertand everyone has issues and everyone has ways to cope with life. I just wanted to say, Suzanne, that I think you will do the right thing, soon (hopefully). Your poor husband looks almost twice as big as you. Perhaps you both could start walking, slowly, and gradually trim down and perhaps quit smoking. I wonder if the daughter will follow in the parents' life style. But it's important not to be too hard on yourself. You are a bright, kind woman, I can tell. Just hoping you will be okay. I'm proud of you to go on to Dr. Phil and talk about it as millions of people are in the same boat.
      Thanks Barry

    Integrative health referrals?

Does anyone know an integrative health specialist in Orange County, CA? I am eager to connect with a local physician who has similiar training and orientation to that of Dr. Diaz.

Thanks for your assistance and any information that you can supply.
Dr. Diaz & Arnold Diaz related?

    TOTALLY off the subject . . .

I notice a strong resemblance to Dr. Diaz and Arnold Diaz from 20/20. Are they siblings, or not at all even related?

    Just curious!
    way to go

Dr Phil acted so surprised that people (men) doen't get physicals and only go to the doctor when they are sick, some don't go even when they are sick. We don't all live in Beverly Hills and maybe he doesn't realize that a big percentage of people have no or very limited medical insurance (most doesn't cover preventative checkups).
Get real Phil!!! My husband just won't spend the time going to the doctor to find that he needs hundreds of dollars of medication each month that we can't afford.

I just sent an Email about this same thing! I have gone through cancer twice with no insurance and we lost our house. Over two years ago I had to have an emergency hysterectomy. I went to Mexico! I had no choice! And I have not been back to a Dr. since. I don't WANT to know! It will just give me something else to worry about and not be able to afford! My husband(44)has never had a physical. I have insurance now but the co-pays and deductibles are so high I can't go! We eat healthy and lead an active life. Limited drinking/no smoking! It's all we, as well as many, can do! I do not wish to stuff the pockets of the Health Care Industry. I need to pay bills!

I tuned into the show late and I was wondering if someone knew
what the vitamins were? I think eating properly not smoking
and excersizing is great all by itself. It's hard to do though.....
    Thanks.

I also tuned in late. All I heard was something about Magnesium & ..... I would like to know what was said about vitamins also. I have been taking vitamins & calcium for years, plus 7 other prescriptions. I think if I have to take another vitamin, or pill I will just croak. However, I'd do anything to have more energy and get my eyes to look "alive" - with a gleam that beams!!
Dr. Diaz is not far from me, so it isn't impossible for me to go. I'll bet he will be booked for months after today's show.
      Thanks

betts3: If you live close to Dr. Diaz, is it possible to e-mail his phone number etc. We don't have any one in my area that practices this field. Really interested in trying this. Tired of being tired. tfloyd1942

Hi Suzanne: The doctor certainly put you on the right track with a high potency vitamin/mineral supplement along with the EFAs (3/6/9s). However, you may wish to read one of Dr. John R. Lee's books: "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause" OR "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause". You look like you're in the peri or menopausal stages. Balancing your hormones will help take away any strong cravings for carbs and sugars. As a nurse you know this definitely slows you down. I know the program works because I followed it starting about 5 years ago. Unexpectedly a couple of months ago I ran across a lady named, Jackie Harvey, out of British Columbia in Canada. She is a professional speaker and is teaching
Dr. Lee's program. Ironically, I had learned his program on my own with a great deal of research, questions and tenacity. It does work. I was 140 lbs my entire life (5'8") and am well on my way back down from the 220 lbs I ballooned to over 7 years. I only wish I'd met her much earlier. Balancing your hormones will help give you THE BEST "all round" health care program you ever need. Best wishes on your ongoing efforts - I know you can do it.
