It was interesting to see the making of the Dr. Phil show. I was wondering if there are shows that are taped but will not be aired due to the way things turned out during the taping.
Thanks.. Tom

Robin is such a great woman!! How much ya wanta bet she has her own show soon. And doesn't she remind you a little of "That Girl",Marlo Thomas.
I also liked the young AA woman with the braids in pigtails(sorry-didn't get her name). Spunk and honesty!

I think it was cool to see the show today and see how things are done. About the comment about Robin on the show I think she is a great wife to Dr Phil and she supports him 100%. True love like that is enlighening and those who don't believe she is important to the show should think about walking a mile in her shoes. Kudos to the staff on the show and Dr Phil and Robin also. I think they deserve all the recogintion and fame they get. How many folks have they helped already in just one year on the air? Me for one let me assure you. Have a great weekend all.

I really liked today's show. It was very interesting to see the inner workings. I have a Brother who is a sportscaster and some can't understand why he has to go to work so early for a 2 minute sports cast. There really is an awful lot that goes in to producing and airing a show.
It's obvious how hard all of Dr. Phil's staff work. And Robin, you are the best. I love how you call Dr. Phil, "Philip".
Everyone keep up the good work!!

Going to try this again. Don't know what happened to my first post. First of all...my name is not really 'Lynn' I WAS a guest on the show last fall. I just wanted to add something here. There ARE tape cuts and there are 'do overs'. Me and a couple other guests were not too happy with the way things went.. (don't know if the staff was too happy with us either) After I wrote an email to the producer I had worked with I got a nice letter of appology. It was a wonderful experience though and something I will always remember. I just wish I could have met Dr Phil OFF camera before the show. It may have made my appearance easier. If I was ever asked to do this again I WOULD!! However, I would be more prepared. It was like the questions Dr Phil asked did not go along with the email I had written the show. Had me standing there looking like an idiot!! Oh well. I 'got over it.' My advice to an future guest? Go for it! But, be prepared and don't let all the Hollywood glamor make you forget what you came there to say. LOL!!

(my middle name is Lynn...lol)You are right. From my point of view it did not seem personal at all.(with Dr P) Most of the staff was nice...especially Jeremy (who passed away a few months ago) and Arundel. They did treat me and the other guests like we were pretty special. I just wish we could have actually met Dr Phil .. or at least Robyn. We had no off camera reference to work with. I don't like the idea of meeting someone face to face for the first time with a camera showing it to the world. We could have at least gotten some 'hello's' out of the way. But maybe the intimidation (on the guests part) of a first time meeting 'works' for him. I think he should make an effort to at least just walk into the 'green room' (which is actually beige..with dark green furniture and a bar and a bunch of plants...lol) and just say 'HI' and shake the guests hands before they all go out there. He's a big guy...and that in itself can cause some people to back down.

Lynn, you took the words right out of my mouth! When peopole find out I was on the show, they say, wow, I love Dr. Phil, what was he like....it's sad , but I have to respond with...I have no idea...I never got to meet or talk with him. When you saw me on stage talking with him on camera for 8 minutes...that was it...I have no idea what he is like off camera...I never got to meet the guy!

I was on the show in November and I agree with you all....I did enjoy the experience and felt so lucky to have the chance, but, I was so intimidated on stage. It would have helped so much to be able to just say "hello" offstage either before or after the taping. I wish we would have been selected to go back for an update! :) Jodi

The show was very interesting. I love knowing what goes on behind the scenes, and now every show I watch, I will be thinking about all the people that work so hard to make it happen. Keep up the good work!

I always enjoy your show. I really found today's "behind the scene" show fascinating. It was interesting to see what goes into producing one show. I always enjoy hearing what Robin has to say too. You and your staff do a phenomenal job. Thank you. Keep up the great work!

I love this behind the scenes stuff. Personaly I don't want Robin to get her own show I want to see Phil incorporate her MORE on this one. Give it serious thought production team.
My condolences and admiration to the staff members waiting patiently by phones DURING THE WEEKEND in order to book guests.
I do have one suggestion. In regard to those gift bags the audience gets, how about making them available, in a limited quantity of course, via internet bidding ala E-Bay or a contest. That Valentines Day show really had me salivating. Man all that LOOT!!! I don't know if I could have afforded to bid on that haul but sure would have relished the chance to win one.
Graet show today. Wishing you many years on the air.

Well, its good to see what happens backstage but I feel that in the last few weeks I've seen a lot of "backstage" items from the Dr. Phil show. Are you running out of ideas? I am full of ideas if that is what you lack. But I do like the show so keep it up!

Your show was very entertaining but everything just went so smoothly. Surely there has to be days when the show just doesn't go "great"!
It is helpful to people to know that even Dr. Phil may have a "bad hair day" now and then..
Enjoyed seeing Robin participating more. She adds another dimension to your show. Unfortunately, your show airs when I am working so unless I am off sick, don't get the chance to view it as much as I would like to.

to see all the work, study, preparation and dedication that goes into producing a show.
Love it when Robin and the family participate. Well done, Robin!
Especially nice that you continue to credit Jeremy Stabile. I'm sure he is dearly missed.
Kudos to all!
Thank you.

I noticed several references to Jeremy who passed away... i must have missed it if he was mentioned on the "behind the scenes" show. what happened to this fellow, what was his position on the show? when did he pass away? how very sad regardless of the answers, i am sure. i work full time & don't see every show, however i am home for several weeks recuperating from surgery & am loving being able to catch Dr. Phil & Oprah both every day! i enjoyed the recent show, enjoyed Robin & her gushing adoration for her "Philip"...it is obvious the feeling is mutual between the two of them, huh?

Snoozefest

Sorry Dr. Phil, but I thought today's show was a major snoozefest. Perhaps it's because I am under 50, but I don't really care how your show is put together. Yes, it was nice to give credit where credit was due type thing, but that's what the CREDITS are for at the end of the show. I much prefer you regular shows, where the backstage stuff is left to "the magic of television". This doesn't mean I will stop watching, but really, was your staff THAT stumped for show ideas that they had to do a behind the scenes? Sounds a bit sketchy to me.
