Dr Phil, the lady with the big boobs, heck with what her husband wants, do it! I was in a D cup in 8th grade, when I decided to have the surgery, I was in a J cup. I decided enough is enough!! I had 3+ lbs taken off each side. My back has quit aching, being numb and I feel so great. My health insurance paid 100%, due to medical problems that it was causing. I think this is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. They will still be there--old phase, "more than a mouthful is to much!" is real. To be able to turn over in bed without having to "adjust" my chest was great. I could tell a difference in 2 to 3 days. Maybe her hubby should carry two bowling balls in his underwear and see if he is comfortable!!! Men can be so vain. I found out that I really had feet! You go girl and get them babies cut down!!!!

Hi.I'm Noreen in Ontario Canada..Please reconcider your breast reduction!..I was larger than you Della..I had a breast reduction..a total of 3lbs off each breast.
Yes the weight off feels great,BUT there are complications that can happen..I ended up with MAJOR infection and lost my left nipple and areol area.Necrosis (dying tissue can happen and often does)set in and I had to report to the hospital for 4 months, 2 times a day for bandage changes not to mention my breasts look like a dog ripped them off.

Dear Noreen, Thanks for your concern and comments. I am going to be VERY proactive regarding infection and healing. God forbid that something happens because I'll never hear the end of it from PAul. I hope you are doing well. Stay warm way up there!

Hi Della,
I wanted to tell you my experience. I've wanted to have breast reduction since I was 13, and I was able to have it in 1994. At first, my insurance company told me to lose weight and come back, but I was able to prove losing weight wouldn't help.
I had the surgery on a Friday and was out of the hospital by Sunday. The reduction was from a G to a C cup, and reduced each side by 5 lbs (I think). I was back at work in less than 2 weeks.
Many people mentioned complications, so I will tell you about mine. During the healing, one of the incisions didn't close, and I had to do some minor follow-up care. It wasn't major, and I had almost no pain.
I haven't regretted having the surgery. I say go for it. Your situation was worse than mine, and with your attitude, you should do great.

Hi Della, I'm 33yrs old and a mother of 6 from British Columbia, Canada. I had a reduction done back in 1991 after my first to children. I had talk to others that also had it done and seen their scares and I believe that the results depend on you'r doctor. The scares I have are way thinner and nicer lookin then the others I have seen. I even was able to breast feed my next 4 children which I didn't start havin until 1997. I was an F and after I was a B, I cryed because I thought that my husband wouldn't like them and they were same compared to what I was use to. But over time they did get to be a C, which was just perfect for me. But after my last 4 children I would luv to have it done once again. To be honest I don't have any feelin in my breast before, but after I had a lot of feelin in my breast. I would highly recommend having it done. Just look for a great doctor and check out the pictures of others they had done. I didn't even have to use pain kills after the sergery. Well I wish you the very best. God Bless You. SexyAngel6

Who did your surgery.?! Dr. Jack the Ripper.
I had it done by a wonderful surgeon and I also had 3 lbs removed from each breast. My breasts are more firmer than ever. They are beautiful and I all my friends including the males love "my girls".
Sorry, that yours had complications but with a good surgeon, that is not the norm.

Della, you are a brave lady! Surgery is scary, but so is the physical pain you suffer. I had a friend in high school who had breasts so big she developed disabling back problems, permanent bruises and open sores on her shoulders. She was a champion horseback rider, and of course the pain stopped her from competing. Not to mention the fact that kids used to tease her mercilessly and call her a slut, based solely on the size of her chest! She had a reduction at age 15, and no longer had to deal with the physical and emotional pain.
Also, don't let the people who had complications scare you too much. Yes, with any surgery there can be horrible complications. But think of it this way: With surgery, you MIGHT have additional misery. Without surgery you SURELY WILL. Only you and your doctors can decide if it is worth the risk.
You go, girl! I'm HAPPY to pray for a successful outcome and a much more comfy life for you! God bless and good luck!

Thanks you the complement, Kittin, but I'll have to say that the Dr. Phil staff made it easy. They are like a well-oiled machine. I think they work too much, but they all seem to really love it. They believe in Dr. Phil and what he is all about and that counts for a lot. I encourage everyone to watch Dr. Phil, read his books but more importantly, do the work it takes to make your life the "very best it can be". It is truly possible! Thanks to all who make that possible. Della Della@DellaNeely.com

miss della. i'm only 20 years old, and i have 36 ff. doesn't really sound like a big deal, but i'm only 5'2'' and have a very small frame. i've wanted to do something since i was like 13, and 19 feb. will be the day. i support you in doing the reduction. the surgeon will explain everything and ultimately the choice is yours, but i think that it'll help you. one thing that my dr. said to me was to look online and read some of the ladies' stories. he said to me that the scarring is the only thing that he was worried about. i looked online and it surprised me that there were so many stories and pictures about breast reductions. i even went and e-mailed some of the women that had it done, and asked my questions. there is gonna be a risk in everything we do in life. and i decided to take the risk to get rid of some of the weight. personnally, i think you should do it, but i was a little scared in the beginning, but now that i've talked to dr.s and women that have already gone through it, i'm going under the knife in about 2 weeks. good luck.

Don't Do It

Della, think very hard before you make this decision and definitely check out the surgeon's history/record with this type of surgery. My mom was in a similar situation and opted for the surgery (my Dad was also a 'boob man' and was against the surgery from the start). The surgery was blotched and now my mother's breasts are a mess of scars and she lives with constant throbbing (surgery was 18 years ago). In addition, it ruined the sexual part of their marriage.
Please, please do your research, and I wish you the best with whatever decision you make.

Hi Della,
I had breast reduction surgery 11-01-01. It was by far the best thing I have ever done for myself. I went from 38DDD+ to 38C. My only regret is not doing it years ago. I found tons of information and support at www.breasthealthonline.org

I just wanted to let you know I went through the same thing. I was a little bit bigger then you though. I was a 46DDD I also went to a 38C and I am so glad I did it. The main thing that got me through it was having a VERY supportive boyfriend. I wish you all the luck.

Hi Della - I unfortunately didn't get to see the show today but I wanted to support you in your decision. I had a BR on 10/22/02 and do not regret it. No more back, shoulder or neck aches!! Not to mention I have perkies now. I am a large C cup. The Ps could still leave you on the large side if you desired but reduce you enough to take care of the aches and pains. I was a 42 DDD before now I am a 40 C. There is a great non profit website that I am a member of breasthealthonline.org It is a great support group and they expect nothing from you. You can post questions and gain knowledgable info from women who have been there and done that.
