I thought it was interesting to go behind the scenes of the show. It was quite funny at times.
We've gotta see Robin in pastels or some bright colors (not at the same time)! No black, no brown, no navy-blue...and no bright red either!

I had no idea that so many people think the same as I do. Robin is a trim, beautiful, energetic, fun, compassionate lady, whom I admire. But she seems to always be in something black (pant, skirt, and that camel, black or red leather jacket.) It may be hard for her to feel comfortable without black as part of a staple of what she is wearing and it is tough for the women of t. v. to have "umpteen different outfits so that they don't appear in the same thing more than once over long periods of time. I love her no matter what she wears though and I think the whole family is so admirable. She is so classy and yet so down to earth and charming. The show must be my obsession because I never miss a show and have my vcr set so I will never miss a show. What a great family & their honesty, openess and willing to share their lives, which lets us know that we are all just people (Laughing) My friends know I will not go & stay over if they don't tape the show so I can watch it in the evening if we are going to be gone during the day. Patsy P.S. Dr. Phil's ties are always pulled to his right. (smiles)

I hope Robin does not stop wearing black. That is my choice of color also. My closet is about 80% black, 15% white and the other 5% a few other colors. Black can be worn day or night, and I happen to think it makes a statement. I cannot stand pastel colors on me--ugh! When I find something in black I like, I always buy 2 because I know next year I will not find it. To me there is nothing like a nice pair of black Ralph Lauren stretch pants with a black turtle neck sweater--it is a daytime or night time outfit. Robin, don't change.
Robin always looks great.

Sleep Apnea

WOW the segment on this show about the snoring reminds me so much of my dad. He used to snore so bad that my mom would be jabbing him and waking him up to get him to stop snoring. It got worse and worse over the years and even got to the point where he wasn't breathing at night. So my dad talked to his doctor and he recommended a sleep apnea clinic. There my dad had test run on him during the night and they found out he wakes up 60 times an hour!!! Of course he doesn't wake fully but he was never able to reach the deepest sleep. It was causing him to be really tired every day. So the doctors put him on a breathing machine like Dr. Phil was talking about. It took him a bit to get used to it but now he says he sleeps better then he has in years. So I suggest people that have a snoring problem really consult their doctors about it. You could not only be depriving your partner of sleep but yourself as well.

My husband started snoring a few years into our marriage and it had become a real problem for us until our air conditioning unit went out for a few days. We used a window fan to get through the hot nights until our a/c was fixed and discovered I could not hear him snore with a fan on! What a marriage saver for us. We have slept with a fan on in our room every night since. We even travel with a fan. While in Hawaii on vacation, we went to K-Mart and bought one to use for our 10-day stay. We've taken a lot of ribbing from friends and family, but it keeps us in bed together. We celebrated our 31st anniversary in March and credit our fan for keeping us together. We've worn out a few over the years and always keep one in reserve. When we shop for a fan, we avoid the ones advertised as "whisper quiet". We want it out of balance and humming!

I have always loved the Dr. Phil show. Todays was great. It's nice to know that he can laugh at himself. And to hear his sister say he has brain cells. haha. Good for her

I have been with Richard 8 1/2 yrs, but we have never slept together because he snores. I'm a light sleeper and I don't care what some people say, you do not get use to it. We recently got married and I wonder if I will ever get to sleep with my husband. It's embarassing when we sleep over at friends & family on trips, we need 2 separate rooms. We have tried the strips, the sprays, he is not more than 5 lbs over weight and we did the lazer throat surgery 3 times. His snoring was reduce tremedously, so that he can at least sleep through the noise, which he wasn't before, but I am still sleepless in the Pacific Northwest. We have a honeymoon planned next March for a week in Cancun & we will have to get 2 rooms or I will be sleepless for a week. Help me Dr.Phil

I feel your pain!! I am at my witt's end with the snoring!!! We have the fan on high, and I even got those Bose headphones that Dr. Phil said on one show cut out ALL sound. Well they do cut it down, but they are kind of uncomfortable to sleep in, and his snoring still wakes me up! It is so loud!! I have even tried sleeping pills, and it still wakes me up.
So he is still on the couch! It is very unromantic, and seems very unfair to him, but I don't know where to go from here.
He went to the Dr. and he doesn't have sleep apnea. He even snores with his mouth closed, so all of the nose strips, chin strips don't work. We need a 4th bedroom, but since we don't have one, he either crashes in our son's room, or on the couch.
I though surgery was our only option, but since you just said that didn't work for you, I'm not sure what to do!!
Does anyone know of a website where it describes that tissue shrinking option that Dr. Phil described?? I was disappointed he didn't have more info. on his website!!

My husband has spent many a night on our couch as well, so I know exactly what you're going through! Finally he went through the testing for apnea and found out he had it slightly, but DID snore ALOT! So they gave him the CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine that Dr. Phil spoke about on his show and that has been a true Godsend. He no longer snores and we are now sleeping in the same bed again! The machine produces a small amount of noise, similiar to a "white" noise as if you had left the tv on after the station went of the air, but that noise is nothing compared to the noise of snoring! If there is a way your doctor can recommend this machine for your husband, I strongly recommend giving it a try. Anything is better than sleeping on the couch!
I've heard that the surgery is very painful and I would try the CPAP first and surgery as a last resort.
Good luck!

Was a good show today but then they all are, it's just good to have a light, less serious talk show at times. Gives your viewers a moment or two of smiles and a nice feeling, It is so good to know something of a person we listen to and trust in this venue of tv. Knowing Dr Phil is devoted to his family first gives me as a viewer a sense of trust in the advise given....thank you Dr Phil

I have to say that I agree with Phil with regard to how an individual's success in life should be counted. Success is not in how much money or how many things you own. Success is how happy and healthy each person and their family is. I count my success on my sons, who are very intelligent and therefore getting great grades in school and the fact that my family is together and happy, including my husband, my father who lives with us, my sons, and myself.

AMEN. HE IS ONE OF THE FEW TRUSTWORTHY PEOPLE THAT DO TALK SHOWS. I WOULD TRUST HIM WITH MY LIFE, AND I LOVE THE FACT THAT HIS SHOW IS ALL ABOUT GIVING PEOPLE HELPFUL DIRECTION. THE FACT THAT HE DOES CHANGE THE SHOWS FROM BASIC LIFE, TO SERIOUS, HEAVY SUBJECTS AND THEN THROWS IN FUN SHOWS AND UPDATES, MAKES HIM UNIQUE. OPRAH SURE KNEW WHAT SHE WAS DOING WHEN SHE THREW HIM "OUT OF THE NEST." THANK GOD, THAT WE HAVE HAD HER TO WATCH OVER THE YEARS. SHE WAS A MINORITY IN THE ONES THAT REFUSED TO AIR ANYTHING JUST TO UP HER RATINGS. I LOVE HER SHOWS TOO. PATSY

Hey Dr. Phil! I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your show today. The segment about snoring really reminds me of my dad! He snores all the time but he went to the doctor and got the face mask, he doesnt snore anymore! So my mom is really happy now that she can actually sleep at night! Today's show was very funny and I think u should do another show just like the one you did today soon. I think alot people really liked it.

I enjoyed today's show. I wouldn't rank it in the top ten, but it was fun to see what else goes on at the show. As for the comments about Robin's attire, she is a beautiful woman and we have been told to wear what makes us feel good, and black is her color of choice and it makes her feel good, keep wearing it. Heck, I think she would be beautiful in a pair of grey sweat pants, no make-up, and a pony-tail.

I didn't get to see this episode when it first aired, but I wish I had been a member of the audience that day. That little girl who is so spoiled needs a serious reality check---yesterday. I can't imagine any child speaking to me about any subject to which I had already said No to. Certainly my own sons would never, nor my nephew, godson, or any other young person I have encountered.

What the young lady needs is for both of her parents to develop back bones. People don't take advantage of you, you allow yourslf to be taken advantage of.
