Best of luck to all the challengers. I hope that even the ones who are not chosen to continue with the show will have the courage, wisdom, and strength to continue on their own. Dr. Phil has given each and every one of them an amazing opportunity. If they want it badly enough, they call all succeed.
I do hope that the challengers who are chosen are the ones who really need it and want it the most, not just the ones who will make the most exciting television, and not just the most attractive ones.

My Heart aches for them all

Like the title says, my heart does really ache for all of the challengers. I know that Dr. Phil will use his wisdom and intelligence and training to keep the ones that he feels will benefit the most. I will be very sad for the five that he can't keep. I will pray for them that somehow they have learned enough already that they can do it by themselves or maybe the five of them can help each other. I will keep them all in my prayers. I also have a weight problem. I am only about 35-40 pounds overweight but I know maybe on a smaller scale how these people feel inside. God Bless you Dr. Phil! Keep up the good work!

So far, I have lost 33 lbs by getting real with myself, partly due to listening to what Dr Phil said in his last season.
I missed the episode of the contestants in the house together last week, so I feel a little out of the loop. But I am appalled to tune in this week to find that he's voting 5 people off, as if this is Survivor. These are people's lives at stake, not some game or gimmick to get ratings, and if he's just voting people out for interest sake, I'll be tuning out.
How devastated these 5 must be to find that no one, not even Dr Phil, is willing to help them! Someone, please tell me what good will come from giving up on people this early in the challenge!

Hi Kim...Can you pass the word along to Teri that if she needs another buddy or some support, I am here for her, as are zillions of others I am sure. She and I have a lot in common, which is why I connected with her. And I don't think she has a support system going on for her at home. But I have been there and done that. If she needs to chat, or if any of you do, drop me an email at: jbriggbhs@yahoo.com PLEASE put WLC in the subject line. I started working on my personal weight loss solution 2 years ago and have dropped 75 pounds now. I have learned a lot and I know if I can do it, SO CAN YOU! I have 50-60 pounds to go, depending on how my body feels...but I was 300 pounds when I started this great adventure. Good luck people...there are a lot of people out here pulling for you! And please Teri, drop me an email! Thanks Kim! jb

Yeah it feels good! I am 48 and the last time I weighed 225 pounds was over 25+ years ago. What is so bizarre is I always lied about my weight on my drivers license. I will have to change my weight the next time I renew it, because I now weigh a whole lot less than the weight I had listed. I still have a ways to go, but I KNOW I will achieve my goals! jb

I am losing the weight now and look forward to the next time i get pulled over. The cop will be in for a surprise. I would have to keep updating the info monthly on the license to keep it reasonably current.lol. I also can't wait to take my son to our family doc today. Last time he saw me I was at least 25 pounds heavier. I am going to hop onto his scale when he's not looking. lol

Hi JB,,I just read your post and I just want to say Thank YOU so much for your support and your thoughts! You have no idea how much it means to me, as well as the rest of the WLChallengers to hear inspiring life experiences like yours, and the courage to share it with us. We are just like you,,,working day by day to get thru this, and learning so very much about ourselves and what we are made of as human beings. We feel that not only have we gained 12 new lifetime friends, but have gained an extended family made up of people like you who understand where we have been, and with the help of Dr. Phil and his caring and supportive staff, know where we are going. Much success to you and I look forward to hearing about your progress as well,,and hey,,its OK to "cheat" a little on the DL question about weight,,but I cant wait to be able to renew it with my "get real" weight!! Thank you again,,,WLCTerri

the "secret"

I must first say, I still have 40-50 lbs to go, so I'm not "there" yet. And I don't know if I've actually found "the secret," but I have changed my life, and for the first time in my life (I've been fat since I was 6, so I feel justified saying my whole life!), I feel healthy and in control.
My husband and I have decided to conquer this together, which has been the biggest change. We have worked hand-in-hand to create a system that works for us as individuals, incorporating specific, sustainable eating changes, do-able exercise, and personal motivators. The system is ever-changing, as we determine what works and what doesn't, and is different for each person who does it. Our extended families and friends have been inspired and are looking and feeling better too, and we look forward to sharing "secrets," as we learn them, with others. First secret: make one or two changes at the time... it's taken us almost 2 years to lose 50 lbs between us, and it's been worth the wait! Good luck - Angie

Kim,
As I listened to Dr. Phil reem you for your email to Angela...You looked upset(understandably so). I would have love to hear your side of it. I can relate to you a bit, our characters seem the same.
What was your purpose for the email? Are you subconsciencously trying to sabotage Angela. I think if she decide to 'really' do this...she could probably win it all...is that what you are afraid of?

That is a wonderful question, by the way! So many people have been so judgemental and you are the first person to ask me why? Let my say this without giving too much personal information away about Angela. Angela has a lot on her plate right now. Let's just say it's mind boggling to me! My E-mail, if you listened well, NEVER once said quit! Never once said quit, did everyone hear that. I told her that life is full of choices and living on the street with a 11 year old daughter has never been one that I would choose! I wanted to let her know that "I" was behind her 100% for any decision that she had to make. The facts were that she needed an income NOW! She had given up a job and all I said was weigh your options. Weigh your options turned into quit the show and I never said that! I have two words for anyone that thinks I was saying something else. TELEVISION EDITING.
Have a Great Day! I love that question. Thanks!

I just wanted to tell you how proud I am of you and your determination to do this, especially in front of all of us. You've shared a lot of personal stuff that must be painful but believe me is helpful in ways to all of us out here watching. It gives us certain insights and things to think about in relation to our own lives. I wish you the very best success not only in this WLC but in everything else that you do.
Good Luck!

Kim,
I just want to say thank you for being honest, and putting yourself out there for all of us who are at home watching. You are our reality and seeing each of the challengers struggles, helps us all. We live in a world that ignores the reality of weight and you all are bringing it home! I watch you all every day while I am on the treadmill! God Bless you.. For it is God who has blessed us all with life, and is entrusting us to take care of what he has given!!
THANK YOU!

You are beautiful and you can never forget that. You are beautiful now and you will become even more beautiful when you lose the wieght. But it won't be because you lost the weight, it will be because you will be a more comfident person. I am only 19, but I have always been good at giving advice and inspirations to other, but unfortuantly not to myself. I need help through a lot of things right now. I need someone I can communicate with and have them support me, while I can support them. In all things in life, not just wieght loss. Any volunteers?

I know just where you are coming from. I have always been there for someone to cry on and give my support or advice to. Unfortunately I have no one to help me out either. I am 26 and have lots of background in Nutrition and Exercise. I also have a hard time practicing what I preach. If you would like a friend, email me at jgftmfcgf@comcast.net.
