To the couple that was let down for their adoption...it's hard to go through but my advice it to pray for that baby boy everyday. My husband and I went through a pregnany with a mother in the same town we live in. We was going through an independent adoption. We went to every dr. visit, hospital visit and we was there the day the baby girl was born(4-24-04). We named her "MaKayla" and brought her to our home 4-26-04 but on 4-29-04, we recieved a phone call from the attorney saying the biological mother changed her mind. We was very heart broken..it's very hard to deal with but we put all my heartache into Gods hands. I think about "MaKayla" daily and I pray that God will take care of her. The pain never goes away but I just have to trust in Him that he knows best for us. Unless someone walks in shoes of someone who's "lost an adoption", they'll never understand. I pray that one day your "adoption and family" desire will come...just put your faith and trust in Him.

Thanks Dr Phil for highlighting adoption this year. My husband and I chose adoption as our #1 choice to grow our family, and now we are looking forward to adoption #2 through Foster/Adopt of an older child. Can't wait!

the reason im writeing this is because,today i was bored and turned the t.v
and i seen you on the show,it realy touched my heart because i was talking to my ex husband about me giveing my baby up for an adoption,i have 5 children and i feel blessed with them and i know i can not have another baby there is alot more to the story but i dont like to write about it because i will feel sad once again.im a christian and i do not feek i can kill an innocent life because of my wrong choices!!

I understand your pain. Since you are a christian, please pray about your desicion. Make sure you are sure and God gives you a peace. Try an open adoption so you can keep track of your baby through the years. God will not hold it against you for giving a childless couple a chance to love and raise your baby. I have prayed Hanna's prayer in the Bible a million times, just pleading with God to send me a child. I am sure I am not the only one. I believe that the greatest love a mother could have for her child is to give that child the life she cannot. Pray and ask for guidence and ask for a peace in your decsion.

My husband and I are Christains as well. I want you to know that we will be praying that God show his will for you life as well as the baby's. I believe that God let you watch this show - to remind you there is other answers. That there is a couple out there whether it be us or another couple.

You are strong and smart and must have the biggest heart and I couldn't be more proud of you. Hi,
Just a small story about my life. I have a difficult relationship with my 'birth' mother, but my step mother is my Mom. I agree with the message to look for open adoption. You will choose the best parents for this child and be able to know that you made a good choice for this child. There may be many things in your life that will keep you from being the mother you dream of, but you can provide that dream to your baby. In my case my step mother was able to provide the love and compasion that my mother was not able to. My step-mother has taught me the ability to have compasion for my mother. i wish all women felt the same way you do about not punishing their unborn child for the woman's choices. My husband and I have struggled with infertility now for 6 years, and have had 1 miscarriage and a failed adoption. It is absolutly devastating. Just know there are hundrends, even thousands of loving, christian couples here in the U.S. that long for a child. You have the ability to change a couples life, with the life you are carrying inside of you. Continue to pray about you decision, if adoption is the answer, God will direct you to the right couple. Out of curiousity have you (since you've struggled with infertility) .. have you ever considered surrogacy? These women will carry children for you and there is a much less chance that they will back out of an arrangement because they already have their families. I helped a couple have children (the twins are genetically mine) but I did it from the heart and they are happy and loved and being very spoiled by their parents. If I could do this every year, I would.

I think volunteering to be a surrogate for somebody is awesome and selfless. I have infertility issues and I cannot carry a child. I had a family member tell me she would be a surrogate, but I do not believe she is still willing to. I appreciate her offer and I completely understand her not wanting to as she does have a family of her own. I wanted a surrogate so that I would not have to worry about a birth mother backing out or have to wait a long time to be able to adopt. I would not ask just anyone, I totally trusted the one who offered. I wanted a surrogate so I could be a part of the entire process. I would love to adopt twins if at all possible. I want to help out my son and daughter in law. They have been marriaged almost 3 years and have tried everything, fertility drugs, vitro fertilization, she has endometriosis she did carry a baby for 2months but it was on the outside of the tube, it was taking and that crushed both of them. They have tried so many times. They both belive in higher power but I can see it is getting harder each time. I hear on the news all the time about mothers leaving babys anywhere to die it makes me so sick. Because I know my son and his wife want one so bad.What I'm asking is can u give us some help and info.

I cannot imagine the thoughts that are going through your mind. I am an adopted child. My birth mother was 15 and decided to give me up for adoption when she was pregnant, now I have a child of my own and I know how difficult it was for her to give up her child. But, I thank God every day that she decided to give me up for adoption and not have an abortion. I grew up in a loving home with wonderful parents. I know there are other wonderful parents out there praying every day for a child to bring home and love. Keep praying and know that God will help you make the right decision.

My husband and I are just like the first couple on the show- we are desperate for a baby and cannot have one of our own and know that we would give it a wonderful home and it is thanks to lovely people like yourself that it is possible for us to look to adoption as a way to make our family. We are just starting the process and are going to try to do an open adoption and just hope that we find a birthmother with a big heart that is willing to let us raise the baby she carries. I was watching Dr. Phil today as well and decided to become a member of his site and check out the message board.
My husband and I love each other very much. We have not been blessed to have a gift from God. I am not able to have children of my own. We want a child to make our family complete.
When you are ready, we would love the opprotunity to discuss this more with you. We would love the opportunity to give your child a loving home. I am sure this would be one of the hardest decisions you will ever have to make. I can assure that your baby would be our #1 priorty in life. I came from a family of 6 myself and am the only not blessed with a child. Your baby would would be loved and we would want him/her to know that its biological parents loved it as well.
I know this decision could not be easy for you. I know that you will do what is best for your baby.
One last thing, the blessing would truly be ours to have he/she in our lives. I would love it if you would be willing to consider us if this is the way you decide to go.

There is a child out there for us and I know that he will send it my way. We will love and cherish this gift of GOD- all the days of our lives. It will be a true blessing from GOD and we will never take it for granted.
