I think Cher absolutely rocks, not only as a performer, but also as a model for women.
She exudes strenth, independence, and confidence balanced with warmth, genuineness, and empathy. Altough it's probably not her intention, I see her as a fabulous role model for women and girls--be strong, be yourself, accept yourself and make no excuses for anyone--you don't need to! I saw her shows both this year and last in Reading, Pa -it would be an absolute dream come true to meet this ultimate Diva!
      Agree!

when I was little I had very dark skin, dark eyes, long black hair..
everyone around me at the time was blond and if they were on tv.. blond.. think the brady girls!! and genie.. and sam on bewitched..
(sure..sabrina was great..but she was "the naughty one)
anyway..one of the only women I could look at and think.. I want to be her.. was CHER!
I've loved her since I was a kid..

I remember wearing my mom's long black wig and pretending to be Cher..
and to hear her say that as a child..she was surrounded by blondes.. I thought.. wow!!!
    I Can't Wait !

When I was a little girl, about 4 or 5, I played at home with my older sister. She was between 7 and 8. She played "Cher", which left me "Sonny." I did not mind. I loved coloring as she belted out "Halfbreed." Two girls...with great imaginations. Time has passed. We've grown up. And so has Cher. She WAS and IS and ALWAYS will be BEAUTIFUL...in mind and body. Recently, I took a trip from my home in the heart of Texas, all the way to Calgary...and the Stampede. The highlight of my trip was definitely the night my husband and I spent at her "Cheralicious" show. I found it so utterly amazing, that I KNEW in my own heart, it was meant for my sister. I even felt a little guilty that it was I sitting there enjoying the show when Charla admires her so. Eight days later, my mother and my sister drove four hours to Dallas, flew all the way to Kansas City, drove to Sioux City, Iowa, to see Cher...and of course did the reverse home. They BELIEVE it was worth it. Her Texas show was sold out at that time. Crazy? I do not think so. She makes us feel like old friends..even in an audience of thousands. Just think what kind of mother she must be! Cher...if you are reading this...you are an inspiration to women-actress, singer, songwriter, mother, friend. How do you do what you do?! We love you...deep in the heart of Texas.

Cher is a remarkable women. It would be a dream come true to meet her in person, Being a single mother for 18 years, having someone that you can relate to helps tremendously. I am really excited about this show. She is a great role model for everyone. She doesn't make excuses for herself, she is honest and trustworthy and she is herself, what an important message for young girls today. Love who you are and enjoying being you. Thanks Cher for all the wonderful things you have done and for being someone people can look up to.

I think this was a good show in the respect that we can all see that no one in this life has it that easy as we are all humans and have our shares of issues but I must say that I do not look at Cher as a good role model for me as I have a different outlook on certain things in life than she does. I think those of us who are parents can relate to her as far as having children in common but then again, because of thinking processes and all, I personally would not turn to Cher as a role model.

I'm over celebrities talking about themselves. They have a life style I just can't relate to. I sure wish Dr. Phil could keep it real with real people and real issues. Trust me, Cher's problems, although real, are more easily treatable with millions of bucks behind them.

Robin's interview with Cher is relevant to Dr Phil's "family first" emphasis. It had nothing to do with her celebrity status. Cher was on the show because she's a single mother, just like millions of other women. She was there to talk, not about herself, but her children. Dr Phil isn't the one always having celebrities on his show just to talk about themselves. Oprah is. That's why I never watch her anymore. If Dr Phil starts doing like she does, I'll be among the first to quit watching him, too.

the reason cher was on the show, has nothing to do with that... It was a definate cry for help on Cher's part, she is desperately seeking some affection from a father figure.
Cher was on the show because see can show you her heart if you pay attention looking into her eyes. And there isnt anything wrong with that, nobody deserves to be lonely. Humans werent meant to be alone, theres a difference between being self suficient, and giving meaning to life. Rich or poor, we are all missing out on alot of meaning of life and stuff that life has to offer. That interview went down as i would put it, a first date to get to know one another, simple, sweet.

And there are people out there wiling to help.
      Dr. Phil's friend, Cher

The reason that Dr. Phil's friend, Cher, was on the show was because Dr. Phil's friend, Cher, is Dr. Phil's favorite performer. Dr. Phil's friend, Cher's, parenting experiences are in no way common or reflective of the majority of single mothers who watch the show. Dr. Phil's friend, Cher, has her own demons, and it is wonderful that Dr. Phil (and Robin) are available to help her fight them.

    It is hard being Cher

I cannot imagine trying to raise children while being as famous as Cher. I want to say that I think that she did a great job and I am glad that she is happy for her daughter. I am a Christian woman and homosexuality is a big question mark for me. Of course from a biblical standpoint, it is "wrong", but if one of my children came to me say that he or she was gay, I would open my arms to them and love them NO MATTER WHAT. Great job Cher!

Also-GREAT JOB ON THE INTERVIEW ROBIN! WE LOVE YOU!

It's not any harder than the millions of single and married moms who hold down a full time job, have a career, raise kids, run a household, are family cornerstone and maybe, just maybe have a life of their own.

We all have our cross to bear, she just happnes to be on TV.. big deal!

I've been a Cher fan since I first saw the Sonny & Cher show when they were a summer replacement for Ed Sullivan. Cher instantly "spoke" to me. I loved her confidence, bravado and the sense of vulnerability she conveyed. Cher was a role model for me throughout my adolesence. Occasionally, it backfired though when my mouth would get me into trouble! I now know that I projected my concept of who Cher was and that in actuality she is probably someone very different.

When Chastity had her book tour, I went to see what she had to say. Chastity was not saying very positive things about her mother. During the question period, I told her that I never would have survived adolescence without her mother as a role model. I asked her if she had anything positive at all to say about Cher. She hedged and never really did answer the question.

I guess the overwhelming message I'd like to covey is that, from Cher, I learned to stick to your guns. Believe in yourself.

Yes, Cher has altered her appearance,(and personally, I prefer the original) but, this does not convey a lack of self-belief. It conveys that she wanted the outside to match her vision of the inside.
    A great inspiration

I wanted to say that the interview with Cher is really wonderful.Thank you Robin, Dr. Phil and ofcourse Cher!

Cher is a huge inspiration to me. She is a strong, beautiful woman, who is succesful, but who is also down-to-earth and human.

It may sound silly, but she has taught me a lot!
    I just saw Robin's conversation with Cher. . . . .

IT WAS FABULOUS!!! I have been a Cher fan for almost as long as I have been born (I'm 36). I've always loved hearing what she has to say. I think she is not only multi-talented and beautiful, but very intelligent, insightful, just AWESOME! She is right; she is quite funny. I truly adorn her and I am thankful she has shared her many talents with us for so long. If you are a true Cher fan, you know she is going to keep it real and have you laughing. Robin did an excellent job interviewing her. They were like two girlfriends just hanging out. Meeting Cher and just hanging out with her is one of the items on my "Things I would like to do before I die" list. Great show Dr. Phil. I need the tape to add to my Cher collection.
