An intense roundtable discussion continues with the Dr. Phil Housewives. Alana, Jennifer, Gloria, Kimm, Michelle and Rachael say their lives may look complete, but they struggle to deal with issues like infidelity, self-esteem and loneliness. Alana says growing up obese made her the target of everyone’s judgment and ridicule, and after she had gastric bypass surgery and lost weight, she became judgmental, as a product of what society taught her.
Can Dr. Phil get Alana to see that pain is a part of everyone’s past and that she has more in common with the other housewives, especially Michelle, than she thinks?
Gloria opens up about tragedies from her childhood and why she can relate to Kimm, who struggles with getting out of bed.
Kimm feels like a fraud because she’s spent a large part of the last eight years in bed. Dr. Phil tries to get to the bottom of why she chooses her bed over her children and shows her just how much life she is missing.
Dr. Phil tells Kimm that Rachael is an older version of one of her daughters. Rachael reveals her struggles with her own unavailable mom and how her mother’s choices still affect her today. And, Michelle weighs in about what Kimm takes for granted.
Dr. Phil uncovers a secret from Kimm’s past: she had an emotional affair with her doctor. He plays a video interview with her husband, who’s clearly worried about her and says he would worry about her welfare even if they got divorced. Jennifer is especially moved.
