E.R. Visits, Nearly 100 Calls to Police: Should They Redo Their I Dos?

          September 24, 2014

Jaime divorced her husband, Jay, after two years of marriage but says he refuses to let her go and lures her back with empty promises to change. She claims Jay is abusive, but he says Jaime always instigates their altercations. Despite their tumultuous history, Jay and Jaime say they want to save their relationship for the sake of their child. Should they work on reconciling or cut ties for good?

Then, join Robin on a private tour of Laura’s House — a domestic violence shelter and agency serving women and children whose lives have been affected by domestic violence — and see what surprise she has in store for this deserving resource.

          A Broken Marriage

Jaime claims Jay began abusing her on a weekly basis just six days into their marriage and continued to do so even after their 7-month-old son was born.

Jay admits he’s verbally and physically abusive but says Jaime needs to “stop playing the victim” and admit that she’s also guilty of “erratic” behavior.

Still, Jaime says she would consider saving her relationship with Jay if they could get help.

How does Jay explain his behavior? And, how did he respond when Jaime got pregnant?

Why has Jaime stayed in this situation?

Dr. Phil gives the couple a wake-up call.

Tune in to hear Dr. Phil’s advice for the couple. Is there hope for saving their relationship?

          Robin’s Fight against Domestic Violence

Robin takes Dr. Phil cameras on an unprecedented tour of Laura’s House, a domestic violence shelter and agency serving women and children whose lives have been affected by domestic violence.

“When women go to shelters, there is amazing secrecy, because husbands can stalk them, they can find them, they can hurt them, they can kill them,” Dr. Phil says.

Go along with Robin on her tour of Laura’s House.
