The women express feelings of loneliness in their relationships. "I am attention starved. I don't know how much longer I can starve," says Dana, who doesn't want to spend the rest of her life with an unaffectionate man. She comforts herself with food, saying she's eaten 60 eclairs in one night.
Mellisa tells the women that she and her husband separated, and during those three months, that was the best sex they ever had. When her husband denies her affection now, she watches a lot of TV, and she has thought about having another relationship. "I don't think I'd ever act, but I think emotionally I imagine what it would be like to have that void filled," she says.
"I told my husband that if things don't get better, that I would seek another relationship," Annette tells the women. She wants to have a good marriage and good sex.
Karen is tired of being neglected. "It got to the point where I was so alone that I had an affair. It started out as an emotional affair and it became physical," she says. Her husband now uses that as an excuse to avoid intimacy. Karen moved out in the past, and like Mellisa, that's when her husband wanted to come and see her all the time.
