Sarah interrupts and begins to talk about Carrie's milk allergy and her claim that Sarah wasn't a good mother.
Dr. Phil sits back. "So you agree it's not about the book? Particularly since the $3,000,000 went off the table, we're going to talk about the milk now," he says. "You've got to figure out whether you even want to publish this book or not."
"Right now, I really don't care if it ever gets published," Sarah says.
"Well, then why don't just say, ‘Take it and go'?" he asks.
"I'm not going to give it to her though," Sarah says bitterly. "Not going to do it. Not after all [the] threats and anything. Nothing would've even been done had I not started getting threats. They're trying to make me jump through hoops."
"Then the book's off the table," Dr. Phil says. "I just hope that y'all recognize that this is not about this book."
"No, I agree. I think that the book has just brought it to a head," Carrie says.
"It did. It put the icing on the cake basically," Sarah says.
"That can actually be a positive. Maybe it can bring the stuff into focus, and you guys can try to do some healing, but this is a contested manuscript and it will never see a printing press as long as it is," Dr. Phil says.
