Rich is the Director of Palmetto Counseling & Consulting Services, LLC. He is licensed in both North and South Carolina as a clinical social worker and has over ten years of experience serving children, adults, and families in both residential and outpatient treatment settings. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Winthrop University and received his Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Rich later consulted with the University of South Carolina's College of Social Work, in which he co-authored a decision case study on death and dying that was published by Columbia University Press in 2008. As an advocate for persons with severe mental illness, he has served on local and state committees to address issues such as child abuse prevention, client rights, and social policy. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and previously served as Vice President for the South Carolina Chapter NASW Board of Directors.
Throughout his professional career, he has worked with people who suffer from Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Bi-Polar Disorder, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Relationship / Marital conflicts, Divorce / Separation, Adjustment Disorders, Career Difficulties & Life Transition issues, Parent-Child Relational problems, and victims of sexual, physical, and emotional trauma. In addition, he has extensive experience working with families who have children placed out-of-the home due to self-injurious / violent behavior or substantiated cases of parental neglect and abuse.
