Dr. Fasula provides a variety of psychological services to help individuals, groups, and families cope with various issues that arise throughout the lifespan. She utilizes an approach based on integrating individuals’ strengths and assets at more conscious levels to build a foundation of positive mental health and stability. The aim is to clients re-establish a living pattern that improves their sense of satisfaction and confidence in their ability to meet their particular lifestyle needs.
Regarding biofeedback, Dr. Fasula utilized two forms of treatment that include Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Biofeedback Training and Temperature Biofeedback Training. HRV can be a powerful indicator of the health and state of the autonomic nervous system, positive and negative emotional states, and self-regulatory control. Both HRV and Temperature Biofeedback Training techniques can be used to treat various forms of anxiety, panic attacks, headaches, chronic pain, irritable bowel syndrome, and symptoms of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).
Concerning Neurofeedback (EEG Biofeedback) treatment, Dr. Fasula initially completes a Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG) that assess 19 areas in the brain that enables the identification of specific areas of the brain that may need to be strengthened or relaxed through the neurofeedback process. If neurofeedback is appropriate, treatment begins and includes concurrent EEG displays that demonstrate brain activity in order to manage central nervous system activity.
