Lois is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in addictions counseling. She has more than 25 years of experience in corrections and mental health. She is the administrative director of Center For Renewal in Colorado and New Directions Eating Disorders Center in California.

New Directions Eating Disorders Center is an intensive outpatient treatment program for adults and adolescents suffering from bulimia, anorexia, and binge eating disorders. Our small groups meet three times per week for 15 weeks, two evenings and one Saturday morning, for 2.5 hours per session. Treatment includes weekly meetings with a registered dietitian. We also provide psychiatric consultation when appropriate.

The goal of treatment at New Directions is to restore emotional and physical health and well-being. We utilize a combination of treatment modalities with a strong emphasis on dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive therapy, and nutrition education. Clients learn to recognize and change maladaptive thought and behavior patterns. They leave each session with new coping skills which they can put into practice immediately.
