How A 4- And 7-Year-Old React To Their Parents’ Fighting

          VIDEO

          March 13, 2017

Robert and Caitlin say their 16-year relationship has been filled with fighting. Robert says Caitlin is volatile, controlling and dramatic, and that she antagonizes him to get a reaction. Caitlin claims Robert is angry and manipulative and that he has been verbally and physically abusive toward her. They both admit that their 4-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter have often been witness to their drama-filled dysfunction.

“My 4-year-old son, he’ll intervene by yelling, and my daughter will actually get physically involved,” Robert says.

“My daughter used to blame me when her dad would leave. It’s not like that anymore,” Caitlin says. “Now, she told me she doesn’t want him to come home.”

“Caitlin has texted me that the kids hate me, don’t want to talk to me, don’t want anything to do with me,” Robert continues. “She uses a lot of manipulation with the kids. She says things to my daughter like, ‘It’s always nice when Daddy’s not around.’”
