‘I Didn’t Know This Wasn’t Something That All Parents Didn’t Do,’ Says Sexual Abuse Survivor

          VIDEO

          November 16, 2016

Arrested in 1996, Justine and Jim were convicted in 1997 on charges of sexual assault and exploitation of their (then) 13-year-old daughter Amanda. The pair, who divorced over a decade ago, both admit to having sex with her.

“I didn’t know this wasn’t something that all parents didn’t do,” says Amanda in the video above. She says she believed “all of the attention – the affection - would stop,” if she refused to participate. She went along with the abuse, she says, because she didn’t want to disappoint her parents.

Amanda tells Dr. Phil that - many times - what she calls “the encounters” with her parents were photographed and videotaped. She says Justine and Jim told her their intention was to sell the pornographic materials to pay for her future education.
