The Body Of Missing Teen Erica Parsons Found

          October 6, 2016

On July 30, 2013, Erica Parsons, who was 15 at the time, was reported missing by her older brother. At the time, he told police that he last saw her in November 2011 and that he believed his parents killed her.

Erica’s adoptive parents, Sandy and Casey, insisted Erica wasn’t missing. They claimed she was alive and well and went to live with her biological paternal grandmother, “Nan,” in December 2011. But they admitted they hadn’t spoken to her since.

However, police said there was no “Nan,” and Erica’s biological grandmother was not alive. They said Erica’s parents were being uncooperative and that the information they had provided wasn’t true.

Sandy and Casey appeared on Dr. Phil in 2013, maintaining that their daughter was living with Nan and denying they had hurt Erica in any way. Dr. Phil had some tough questions for the couple and offered them the chance to take polygraph exams to help clear their name. Casey refused to take the test, and Sandy’s polygraph results indicated he was being deceptive.

Erica’s body was discovered on September 27 in rural South Carolina. According to news reports, Sandy was the one who led authorities to her remains.
