Kayla says she thinks a fall on the playground caused her 2-year-old son Noah’s brain injuries and seizure. However, Department of Children and Family Services claimed Kayla confessed to shaking the child and hitting his head on the wooden railing of his bed, which she denies.
Kayla admits she shook Noah, but insists she did not shake him hard enough to cause his seizure and brain injuries.
“I had said that I had shaken him and I said that his head never went crazy,” Kayla says of what she told DCFS investigators at the hospital.
After Noah was hospitalized, doctors discovered the child had suffered a subdural hematoma, brain swelling and retinal hemorrhages – symptoms classically associated with shaken baby syndrome.
Watch the video above as Dr. Phil asks Kayla to re-enact how hard she shook Noah. What does Dr. Phil think of the mother’s claims?
