17 Day Diet Challenge: Kim, Clint and Bekki

Ready for Change
"There is a diet that is sweeping the nation, and you guys know I'm not a big fan of diets, but this is a well-done, responsible program that integrates a lot of things I really believe in," Dr. Phil says. "It's scientifically based, and it's called the 17 Day Diet. It is a revolutionary new way to lose weight. You lose it quickly, but you keep it off for good."

Developed by Dr. Mike Moreno, the 17 Day Diet helps boost your metabolism, and can help you lose up to 12 pounds within the first 17 days.

Dr. Phil introduces several guests who previously appeared on the show, husband and wife, Clint and Kim.

The couple reflects on their experiences since leaving Dr. Phil's stage.

"When I saw the video of my backside, I can't imagine anybody walking behind me and not saying, ‘Look at her butt!'" Kim says. "I absolutely freaked out."

"When I saw myself in underwear on the Dr. Phil show, it was probably my most embarrassing moment," Clint admits. "I'm here to change that."

[AD]"It made me realize that if I don't do something now, it's only going to get worse," Kim says. "For nine years, I've been eating like that. Now we're more motivated than ever to get the weight off."

Bekki appeared on the same episode as Clint and Kim and said she was desperate for help shedding pounds. She says she went from "Barbie to unbearable," and now tips the scales at more than 200 pounds. "When I saw the life-sized picture of myself, it really made me realize that I'm completely out of control," she says. "The light bulb went off, and it made me realize that I'm still the same Bekki, and I need to be my own best friend. Dr. Phil, you honestly have saved my life."
Dr. Mike Moreno, creator of the 17 Day Diet, joins Dr. Phil, Clint, Kim and Bekki onstage.

Addressing Clint, Dr. Phil asks, "Don't you think, health wise, it's good for you to lose some weight?"

"About 10 pounds," Clint concedes. He tells Dr. Phil that he currently weighs 325 pounds.

"So, you think if you get down to 315, you're good," Dr. Phil says in jest.

Dr. Phil turns to Bekki. He reminds her that when she last sat across from him, she said she was committed to losing weight. "But since that show, you've gained 11 pounds," he notes.

"I have no excuse," she responds.

"We're going to change that. This is all going to change quickly, for everybody," Dr. Mike chimes in.

"Tell us what makes this particular program so unique," Dr. Phil says.

[AD]"Over the years the [diets] that I've seen that fail, they fail for two major reasons: they're not doable, and they're not sustainable," Dr. Mike answers. He says that users can expect to burn fat and stop the storage of fat within 17 days of using his program. "What I love about [the 17 Day Diet] is you see that rapid weight loss. This is the only one that you change every 17 days what you're doing. That process allows it to be sustainable."

"You don't plateau because every 17 days you shift to something different," Dr. Phil adds.
