A Family Divided: Erin Explodes at Alex: Grand Cayman

Just a Boy Hunt?
Dr. Phil talks to Erin and Alex about their recent trip to the Grand Cayman Islands and Alex's incident with a boy she met.

Dr. Phil recently sent Erin, Alex and Katherine on a trip to the Grand Cayman islands so that Alex could begin to pursue her passion for marine biology. But after a few days, Alex met a boy and the trip went in another direction.

"I saw her and this boy in the

water, and I was like, 'It's going to be sad when Mom walks on the beach,'" Katherine recalls.

Erin was shocked to see her daughter in the ocean hugging a boy she had just met.

"My mom made a scene," Alex says. "And she's freaking out, saying that I had sex with this guy."

"I'm sure something did go on and if it didn't, it was probably getting ready to," Erin says. "I don't believe anything she tells me now, nothing ... I'm just really disappointed and very, very, very frustrated with her right now."

"I'm just tired of her stupid ****," says Alex. "My mom is calling me a slut. That's what she thinks of me because she's a bitch. My mom doesn't trust me, that's what makes it hurt."

Dr. Phil wants to get the facts straight with Alex. "Did you go down there and give this a fair shot or did you go down there and go on the boy hunt?" he asks.

"I wasn't looking for any type of boy whatsoever," Alex insists.

"We sent you to the number one dive destination in the world. Did you give this a fair shot?" Dr. Phil reiterates.

When Alex assures him that she did, he presses, "Or was it all about the boys?"

"It was not all about the boys at all," she says.

Dr. Phil asks Erin if she thinks Alex viewed the vacation as a chance to boy hunt.

"It really wasn't," Erin says. "She and Katherine absolutely loved the diving and it was absolutely beautiful. This was just one incident that was just a little bit of a fly in the ointment."

"Are you obsessed with boys?" Dr. Phil asks Alex. "Is it to the point that you just feel like you can't be whole, you can't be happy, you can't be who you want to be if you don't have a boy in your life?"

"I don't have one right now and I'm doing just fine," Alex says.
