A Family Divided: Katherine's Turn: Sisters

Sisters and Friends
Alexandra has her baby and the family reacts!
"Why do you hate being compared to your sister Alexandra?" Dr. Phil asks Katherine.

"Because we're two totally different people," says Katherine. "I love my sister and I know that she loves me, but we're two different people."

"Do you agree with that Alexandra?" Dr. Phil asks.

"Absolutely," she says.

"How are you and Katherine getting along?" Dr. Phil asks Alexandra.

"We still argue," she says. "But it's not like we're going to jump on each other and claw each other's eyes out. I feel good because Katherine comes to me. I try to help her and give her sisterly advice."

"Do you agree?" Dr. Phil asks Katherine.

"Totally," says Katherine. "I think we're getting along way better."

After listening to the different issues that Katherine has with her family, Dr. Phil asks her, "Do you understand that you have responsibilities in these relationships?"

"Yes," she says.

"You can't just keep throwing tantrums and crying about what hasn't been done in your life," Dr. Phil tells Katherine. "You have to create some of what you want."

Dr. Phil then asks Erin and Martin, "Do you understand that you are hearing things from your daughter that I think people the world over would love to hear their children say: 'I want to talk to you, I want you to know what's going on in my life, I want you to be involved'?"

Martin and Erin say that they understand and tell Dr. Phil that they will continue to put significant effort into improving their relationship with Katherine.
