Divorce Decision: Brandon

Divorce Decision: Brandon

Brandon joins Dr. Phil onstage. "I want so much for you to step up and own some things so you can create a future here that is positive," Dr. Phil tells him.

Brandon says he's turning his life around. "I'm the one who has gone and turned myself in. Originally, I gave a statement without the presence of even an attorney," he reveals. "I'm the reason that this came to light."

"While that's pending, you're out with another minor," Dr. Phil says, noting that Brandon is now dating a woman who just turned 18.

"No, she's an adult," Brandon counters.

"She is now, but she wasn't when this started," Dr. Phil points out. "You were seeing her before we even taped the show."

"Yes, I was, and I admitted to that," Brandon says.

"Do you think that you're being treated unfairly by Emily?" Dr. Phil asks.

"Yes, I do."

"You're saying you didn't hurt her, that she beat her own head against the wall?" Dr. Phil inquires.

"Yes, she did. She's done it on more than one occasion," Brandon maintains.

Pointing out that Brandon is 25, has had sex with a 15-year-old and met his current girlfriend when she was 17, Dr. Phil asks, "What is the deal with focusing on these underage kids?"

"At that time, no, I was not a very rational person. I did something that I know I never should have done," Brandon admits. "But the person I'm with now has been the only person who has stood by me."

Dr. Phil reiterates his question about Brandon being a victim. "You wrote an e-mail to Emily. You said, ‘You want to talk about compassion? How about not kicking a man when he's down? You promised to be there to help me and to be my friend, and you abandoned me and got me kicked out of the only place that I have to live,'" Dr. Phil reads. "'People don't realize how much your actions have only made me worse. You made this war. You owe me far more than an apology.'"

"I was talking about the situation that happened after the show," Brandon clarifies.

"But doesn't that sound like a victim?" Dr. Phil asks. "You cheated on her with an underage girl!"

"Yes, I did, and I admitted that," Brandon says. "I've been honest about everything that happened in our relationship."
