Love Resolutions: Jo-Anne

Love Resolutions: Jo-Anne

Since Jo-Anne's first appearance on the show, she has revived a relationship that she's not so sure should be revived. The man doesn't make her the priority she thinks she should be.

"You're saying that he just can't quite seem to fit you in?" Dr. Phil asks.

"Yes," Jo-Anne says.

"What part of that do you not understand?" Dr. Phil jokes.

"What I don't understand is why this keeps happening over and over again," Jo-Anne explains. "It a

pattern."

Dr. Phil points out that Jo-Anne has been on a lot of first and second dates over the last few years, but never gets further than that. "You're way too cute for that to be happening. You're way too interesting. You're way too intelligent, and you've got way too much spirit of adventure," he says to her. "What are you doing?"

"Probably not asking the right questions," Jo-Anne says. She says that she thinks part of the problem is how she meets the guys. "I was doing a lot of Internet dating, and I think probably getting out more, doing some of the activities, would connect me better."

Dr. Phil says the Internet is not the problem. "It's who you're meeting on the Internet and asking the right questions early on," he tells her. He offers to help Jo-Anne do a relationship autopsyon her past relationships. "If we walk you through what has happened in the past so you can identify any self-defeating behaviors that you've had, any self-defeating selection criteria that you've had, and we mold that into a new direction, are you willing to take that adventure?" he asks.

"Yes," Jo-Anne says.
