Dr. Phil producers hit the streets to gain different perspectives on this inflammatory issue.
"I use the N-word as a term of endearment with my friends," says a young black man.
"I don't see anything wrong with it," adds an Asian woman.
Not everyone shares their views. "People think they can say and do things because we have free speech," a black woman says in disgust. "Many are showing how racist they really are."
"I don't think you'll ever get rid of the N-word, because it is a part of history," says an older white gentleman.
"The N-word is not a word that I use, and I don't like hearing it from my people," says a black man in a striped shirt.
A bespectacled Latina can barely conceal her irritation. "Slavery is over. Just get over it!" she declares.
