Below is the complete stament from the CHP:
As previously articulated to the family, the men and women of the CHP feel for the tragic loss of their daughter.
The CHP is a professional law enforcement agency and demands its employees conduct themselves appropriately at all times. As it did in this instance, the Department takes allegations of misconduct seriously. The Department investigated and initiated corrective measures over two and half years ago for the actions of two civilian employees. The Department also modified policy in regards to the handling of photographs. In regards to the photos posted on internet websites, the CHP issued cease and desist notifications in an effort to have the photos removed.
Out of respect for the judicial process, the Department will not comment while litigation is pending.
