Regarding Neurofeedback: Neurofeedback is painless and non-invasive. One or more sensors are placed on the head and one to each ear. The Brain waves are monitored by an amplifier and a computer that processes the signal and provides feedback. The person sees a video game on the monitor. Gradually, the brain responds to the cues being given, and a “learning” of new brain wave patterns takes place. The new patterns are closer to what is normally observed in individuals without disabilities, disorders, or stress. A better functioning brain can improve sleep, help with anxiety, depression, migrane headaches, chronic pain, attention levels, and other disorders as well as helping a person increase their ability to manage their emotions. When the brain functions better, the person functions better. Neurofeedback trains the brain.
